This game is embarassing to developers everywhere. I cannot possibly recommend this to players.

1) You have NPCs which can be assigned to buildings to do work. They carry the tools they need in their boxes back to the warehouses...instead of use the tools. They move the stockpile of wood for the 'mill' to cut planks and beams....back to the warehouse. They don't feed animals.... The only farming they do is 'harvesting'. They don't plant or till. They stand in front of work shelves and chests blocking you from accessing them....to do the work yourself when they don't do the work.

2) There is no 'foraging' or food gathering. No berries or mushrooms. No fishing or hunting in the first two tiers...which is bonkers. There is absolutely NO food gathering the NPCs will help with.

3) As settlements get larger we can't possibly do HUNTING, FISHING, FARMING and look for scrolls needed to progress the game. But we can't turn migration off. People come and eat all your food. You want them to leave.

4) After fighting the animal feed mechanic with no success....It kills all your chickens and you have to repurchase them. We are making an agricultural community....that doesn't breed new hens. Eggs disappear and I can't tell if they're eaten or just not being produced. You can't create seeds until the AETT I. You force PURCASHING with a trader....with taxes that materialize out of nowhere.....nobody makes money....how do you collect taxes from people who make no money?

5) You give players a quest to 'farm' and create a stockpile of food....but you tell us the wrong number of plots to plant...so we have to HOLD onto the food items in inventory....so it doesn't disappear into NPC mouths so we can finish the quest over three to four plantings.

6) The tools die way too quickly for how little of the resources like copper are available. You need to help players get to a sustainable level of resources....so they don't just stop. What's the point of playing a building game where you can't build anything...or do anything?

7) You go to smelt metals....the interface lets you choose SIX items and then the buttons do nothing. They player has to figure out on their OWN that the little mould only has FOUR holes...they have to remove two items.

8) You upgrade your home to add a second chest. Then put stuff in it. Then both chest open to display the list of the first chest....and you've lost all the items in the second chest. Now sad NPCs don't carry stuff to the warehouse so you could at least get it back. Also your home gets occupied by TWO settlers....uninvited. Even when you have other houses available.

9) Pushed out update 1.0.1 and wiped out all of my save files progress. 7 hours of my life trying to figure out how to work around this game. No updates. Just a developer being a bully. Then relaunch the game...and suddenly my save files are accessible again. Something very weird here. Pressing continue loads the last autosave, not the last save file. So I have to remember to load manually.

10) UI interface in the woodworking bench / crafting bench doesn't work. It tells you that you have the ingredients...when you don't. then says you don't have the ingredients when you do. you have to mind check it yourself.

11) My warehouse is STOCKED with firewoods but it doesn't have enough wood to satisfy the management screen. There are no fire pits in the houses. Its not clear how this management interface is even meant to be read. Logically I need to know three numbers: current stock, amount needed by villagers and amount being produced. I can't tell what the two numbers are for these metrics or how to change them.

I'm sure there's more stuff I've forgotten...but these issues rose to the top of my concern list. The game looks unfinished....and buggy as hell.

The developers need to UNLOCK the tech trees. The scrolls were meant to be passive bonuses according to the story plot explanation....just make them block story. Make the needed building materials the only blocker to build progression......And they absolutely need to create some sort of food production the NPCs are capable of doing. If they expect this game to not destroy their reputations.

Have you ever played Sengoku Dynasty or Medieval Dynasty? Then you’re gonna feel right at home with this one. With a few things changed and a bit different design choices here and there this game feels a lot like those games in a lot of different ways. It expanded on some things and retracted on others but for the most part it’s still legit similar in enough ways to be a new and enjoyable experience.

The graphics are average. The sound design is below average. But the gameplay, the idea, the size and scope, the idea, the frequent in-depth mechanics and animations all make the game enjoyable.

Despite its flaws the game is still fun, addicting, with a good price and good stability. It’s a first person survival game where you lead your own clan of vikings into rebuilding your clan, fortifying your position and eventually heading out to raid other clans. It’s a very interesting idea with gameplay engaging enough to be worth your time. All for an affordable price, not incomplete, and not broken.

Obviously this game gets a thumbs up because it’s a really good game. Might not be the best game ever but it’s still pretty good and does a lot of things right. It’s obviously only for it’s specific types of players but for those players this’ll be a satisfying purchase.

Built a hut. Froze to death. Raided a village. Starved to death. Crafted a fire. Died of sadness. This Viking life hits hard—but so does the framerate. Game’s not bad, not good… just not done. Should be Early Access but has potential. 5/10, would cry into mead again. 🪓❄️
