Why should they? The sheep still preorder and support this, genius move on the developers part.

you do realise you can cancel and refund preorders at any time during the 2 hours of playtime? lol, you can still hurt them if you dont like it

Don't worry, just preorder two future DLCs to unlock the LARGE map size and Yasuke as the Japanese leader!

Say that to the 40k people still in game
I suspect that they deleted it for some reason. if you go to the advanced tab, it's just the same options as the normal tab with a different screen. Seems to me they disabled many of the features for some reason> maybe we will get them back? Having said that, been puttering around on the standard map and it seems pretty big. So.....

This is pathetic. The game is so expensive and it's all a mess. We can't play large maps, we can't chose the type of victory, the UI is gigantic covering most of the screen in 1080p... It's an absolute trash.
It's a deal breaker for me. I always casually played Civs on big maps on slow pacing. Now big maps are gone and pacing is completly broken. I undertsand new features requiring additional work, but how they messed up such basic things?

same for me, I was never the min max guy in civ and I have aversion to smaller maps and quicker games. SInce civ 3 I played alwasy exclusively biggest maps, longets games and chilled for few months having fun......
i am a bit disapointed about that game yet

I'm exactly the same kind of player. Huge maps, lots of civs, slow pacing. I completely lost the interest when I found out that we only have small maps now. Maybe they'll add it one day, but meanwhile I could have saved my money and wait to buy this on sales.
Isnt this because maps gets larger as you advance the eras? It was my understanding that maps open up more as you get to the exploration age with the "new world" being introduced, Maybe they should make that more clear if that's not the case.

It's weird that people that buy a game for 100-130€ don't know about one of the core features of the game.

Yes, maps get larger with second Era, But their total size is still small. Also, this "new world" is very forced. Now there are no Pangea (Single huge continent) type maps at all. They are forcing everyone into sailing on to other continents.
