1. Switch to either Borderless or Windowed (i'm not sure Fullscreen works for this).
1b. Pressing Alt + Enter or F11 also works for this on-the-fly.
2. With the game up, hold Windows key + SHIFT + press left arrow or right arrow (this is a shortcut to move windows between monitors)
3. Change your resolution in "Video Settings" for the new monitor. Switch back to "Fullscreen" if you want (though I prefer Borderless for various reasons)
OR
3b. Use the Debug Console and this command to set your resolution:
If you can't switch the game from fullscreen (which is pretty bizarre I have to say, and might be something specific to your hardware/configuration). There are a couple things you might be able to try to get the game to launch in windowed mode:
-Edit the game's launch options in Steam by right clicking the game in your library, go to "Properties", then in "Launch Options:" type "-windowed".
-Edit GameUserSettings.ini (with notepad) in "Documents\My Games\DRAGON QUEST XI S\Steam\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor". Under the "[/script/dq11.dq11usersettings]" header, you will have a "FullScreenMode=" line, change whatever that number is to "FullScreenMode=2". You can also change "ResolutionSizeX" and "ResolutionSizeY" here if you'd like.
