Ok... warning screen was read. BUT... How do we know we're supposed to bring a ton of S**T with us? Does NOT say\warn "Bring EVERYTHING you need to get back"... How do we know? We don't... My thinking was I'd terraform AND be able to shuttle back for supplies, but nope.
It literally TELLS you to bring the materials to build a launch platform, a new rocket, and a rover before you can use the new rocket to leave the planet as you will not be able to come back until you build them on the new planet.
To answer your original question, I do not think you can unless there are multiple save files you have made and you delete the one before you left the planet.
Before you do anything when a update is due is save your save folder to another hdd. Same as every other game i have 10 backup saves for different stages of the game. When the update dropped i had taken my game back to neutrality all ready to go.
The message that pops up for me in game does not tell me to bring any materials or build this or that... maybe it does in the patch notes here. In game, for me, it just says that I am trying to access interplanetary travel, it's optional and to basically make sure you finished the planet you're on. It definitely does not say fill up your inventory and the rockets with everything you can... I almost left my main planet but backed out because I wanted to read the notes. Good thing i didn't leave.
Yeah, I have a few different saves that I regularly create a splitoff of and keep playing on the split.
And yes, I also backup the save directory any time there's a new large update coming. I even back up the save directory after a long play session.
Habit from the days when pc's weren't as reliable as todays hardware.
Funny that I've never had a crash but thats why you buy life insurance as well I guess. :)
Find your save file in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\MijuGames\Planet Crafter and open it in a text editor.
Find the lines that look like these:
See the "planetId" at the end of each line, put there "Prime" or "Humble", whichever was your original planet.
Load your save and be prepared to spam F4 in case you end up too high or below the map.

Lol.
I discovered this too. I find not logical that the transfer rocket is a one way ticket and the shuttle not.
Thank you so much!! This worked for me!
Unless you forget to bring a ton of food or at least seeds for food....... Kinda strange i can find super alloy rod and NO food seeds. So it looks like I'm just gonna die....
