Can't Deconstruct something inside

I saw an old thread for this issue, but it doesn't appear to have ever been resolved, and that thread is over a year old.

I am in the process of revamping my habitats, since I now have 3x3 buildings, so am emptying out the modules and deconstructing them. Most work fine, but one 2x2 module, and my biolab can't be deconstructed because "there is something inside."

To be clear: I have removed all objects from inside and deleted all other items in contact with the modules and biolabs. I have also logged out and back in, just in case there were any larvae or anything hiding in the frames. I am not inside when trying to deconstrct.

It simply won't let me deconstruct some of my buildings, and I know there is nothing inside them. I assume this is a bug, and it's really a pain, because it means I can't rebuild as planned and spent a couple of hours of game time emptying out modules for nothing.

If there is anything else that might work to resolve this issue, please let me know!

I have been doing the very same and find some advanced storage wont delete because of a piece of hardware behind it not inside. Try deleting something behind it. I think there is clipping with items around each other inside base.

I've had objects go invisible for no apparent reason. Log out/in and see if it manifests.

can you connect other structures onto those?

probably a dumb suggestion and i cant even remember if this is a thing or not, but are you stood inside when deconstructing? not sure if it matters but if you know for sure its empty have you tried standing outside to deconstruct?

You can find it by pressing F1 in the main menu and looking for the last modified json file that is not backup.

I logged in and out, completely quitting the game, restarting the PC, but these modules still can't be deconstructed.

I was not standing inside those modules when attempting to deconstruct.

Attempted deconstruction from different perspectives and angles with everything around and under those modules deleted.

Yes, I can Connect it to other buildings still. My workaround was to delete everything else and to connect the new modules to the ones that couldn't be deconstructed. Unfortunately, the layout isn't quite what I wanted, but it works.

Thanks, akarnokd, I am going to start a new game since the update is live. Figured I'd start from scratch anyway. But if the issue arises again, I will send you the game file!
