How do I get the update?

I've got 135 hours logged in the game and am excited to get the update. I'm on PC. But nowhere have I found any info on how to actually acquire the update. Nor can I find any info on what version I am running. I have paid for the pre-release version. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

If it doesn't download automatically check your Downloads page (bottom of Steam screen) or restart Steam.

Thanks for your reply. I think that something may be wrong with my installation. I started with the free version and then paid to update. There is no version number displayed anywhere. There is no option to save to a different name. There is no reference to a dev branch. There is no update option on Steam, only the banners which say that it is available.. Don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm running on PC under Win 7. Steam won't help because they say that it is third party software. I'd appreciate anyone's ideas on how to proceed.

Oh and the Downloads folder is empty.

Just to be clear, in your Steam Library, is your game called 'The Planet Crafter', and not 'The Planet Crafter: Prologue'?

If you right click on The Planet Crafter (not Prologue), you can check the properties, and the Beta tab should show the dev branch.

For the games version number, this only shows once you've loaded a game, bottom right corner of the screen. Current main game version (main branch, not dev) is 0.4.012.

I played the Prologue initially, then bought the game (just yesterday). I uninstalled the Prologue. hid the Prologue in my library (to make sure I didn't launch the wrong one), then installed the main game (i.e. not the Prologue).

Removing the Prologue version did not remove my saved game, as soon as I launched the main game I could still load the earlier save file without issue.

Thanks. No Beta Tab under Properties. Version (surprisingly) is 0.4.012. It doesn't say "Prologue", but it does say "Early Access" If I post this to the developers, do you think that they will respond?

If you are on '0.4.012' then you are already up to date, that was only released a few hours ago (it's the 'hot fix' listed under announcements).

As long as you are not on Prologue, you are on the main game. i.e. Early Access.

Also, are you sure on the BETA? A quick random check of a few games in my library, including this one, and they all have a BETA tab under the games Properties, even if the game itself has no beta branch to select from. The default option under BETA is always 'None', i.e. no beta selected. Not sure if dev branch is of much use here anyway, as the developers seem to be releasing regular updates to the default 'None' BETA branch.

My thanks and apologies to those who responded. I do have the update. There just is no indication until you go out exploring. I assume the new items to craft will appear when the time is right.
