One of the best games in this genre

I like this game - OFP:DR better than what followed with OFP:RR, although that was decent.

I am ok with games like Arma but this is so much better. Instead of running around for 30min before seeing 1min of action and getting killed, this is more "game" like with a purpose.
The game is challenging and has less arcadey feel or that "sandboxed" feel like Ghost Recon games which are also great btw.

I just hope the developers make a sequel to OFP:DR. Or more DLC for it. I'd definitely buy it.

It's been re-named as "ArmA: Cold War Assault" for reasons that escape me.

Yes. I have played that as well so many years ago. Cold War Crisis as well. I think I even bought the OFP: Gold Pack or something which included the base game and expansion pack (as it used to be called then)... Enjoyed them. But OFP:DR was the epitome of this series. The best.

OpFlash is trademarked by Codemasters, not the developers.

Developers, Bohemia Interactive, went on to make the Arma franchise, so when CodeMasters released the game back to them, Bohemia can't publish it under the old name, thus new name.

I disagree :) Originals were the most realistic games. This looks better of course.I had all of them. And ´till today, they are the best simulations there are :D

Topis is absolutley true. I find Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising most interesting shooter i ever play. Player can really feel like on real battlefield in this game, from non-soldier perspective of mine of course.
