I think it would be helpful if you could define more clearly which aspects of the game you're referring to (like "survival horror gameplay", "mood", "storytelling" etc.), because I'm not sure we'll be able to present you with any games that're just 100 % exactly the same.

So, to get this out of the way: The Resident Evil and Silent Hill games are obvious influences, probably best to start there. If you've played those, I think the first Dead Space is also generally considered to be a good survival horror game with a story that goes into unreliable narrator territory.

There's also this little game, which I haven't played, but from what I've been hearing, it's a top-down sci-fi horror puzzle/adventure game, so maybe that'd scratch your itch:

And here are some more games that Signalis has reminded me of, even if just in terms of mood or story. Just keep in mind they're very different to Signalis in many other respects:

I got the same feel from Anno: Mutationem. A bit different game-play though.

Not Survival Horror at all, but Signalis made me boot up Nier Automata again and actually finish it because I needed more stories about melancholic female androids.

Signalis did remind me a bit of darkwood when i was playing it.
Setting is nothing alike tho.

Depends on what you liked about it. If you're looking for something with similar gameplay, the only thing really like it is REmake or Resident Evil 2.

If you like the atmosphere, Silent Hill 1-3 are a pretty good match. I also highly recommend System Shock 2, Prey, and the recent Dead Space remake.

DIfferent genre, but if by "game like Signalis" you mean "pixel art game with heavy atmosphere, great unique worldbuilding and a cryptic story open to interpretation", then you might want to check out Blasphemous

I really recommend you to play CONSCRIPT. It's pretty much the same game: isometric survival horror with backtracking, limited items slots and a merchant during WW1. It has not released yet, but you can play the demo (took me 1 hour to finish it). Really good game, you should check it out

SOMA is also great imo.

Good choice!
Your prompt (Maria Vs Alina Seo) made me finish Slient Hill 2, and I got so much Dejavu.

I just played the demo for a game called 'Radio the Universe' and while the gameplay reminds me more of something like Hyper Light Drifter, it definitely nails that combination of dark oppressive futurism + surreal visual presentation + minimalist, deliberately obfuscated storytelling:

Only downside I see right now is that the game apparently was kickstarted in 2012 and no one knows when it'll actually be released. Though Signalis also took something like 8 years to make, so who knows, it could turn out to be brilliant as well.

EDIT: Oh, I also totally forgot about The Citadel, for the FPS fans among you (also has a demo):

Well obviously the old resi and Silent Hill games. Never played Silent Hill really but watch lets play. Its look pretty clunky tbh.

Resi 1 is a great title, even til this day. You can also play the remake which is great as well imo.

Tormented Souls is similar in that it has heavy Resident Evil and Silent Hill influences, and great original puzzles. The story is good too, but not as obtuse and ambiguous as Signalis. The aesthetic is gothic horror rather than science fiction, but it should scratch that indie survival horror itch.

In terms of gameplay? RE1 PC HD edition.
In terms of story? Blasphemous, Soma, and dead space.

Tbh, it stands on its own as its creation takes so much stuff as inspiration resulting in a new thing.

If you liked Signalis for the puzzles, keep this game on your wishlist.
