Do Hordes Respawn ?

If I wipe them out, will they return? If so, how long before they do?

They don't respawn IFAIK (unless there's some new option I don't know about)
You can start a new game or do challenges if you want to tackle hoards again.

They absolutely do not respawn. I am not even sure if they actually repopulate if you do not finish them off either. I have seen too many conflicting messages on this. Some saying they do after a few days and others saying they do not.

If you hit escape in game you can see a button "reset jobs" any activity you fully completed can be respawned (hordes,infestations, marauders etc) Not sure if the button only shows up after completing the game though.

In my case they neither respawned nor repopulated, I minimized some hordes by dropping some molotovs into them several times when I was passing by and in the end killing the 5 horde members left in a cave while they been playing poker.

There was only one time a horde respawned (but accurate in it´s minimized size), one time the game was bugged and two zomibies were under the playable terrain in a game. Then I walked out of the cave, took a walk to collect some items, were searching for alternative entrance to get to them, and then went back into the cave I found the game someohow realized something is wrong and reset the horde to the same amount of horde members I met when I first entered - this time with no zombies under terrain, so I could finish them all.
