How Does Keyboard & Mouse Feel?
The game was designed with a gamepad in mind so I'm curious how you guys like pc controls. Have you encountered any problems?

Very good for me. Only issue I have is that sometimes you can't use your cursor to click on the menu for some reason.

So there's no artificial acceleration or deadzone in general then?

There were a couple of threads here saying it was bad :S

The camera direction dictates what direction you are walking. Its pretty terrible, honestly. A great example of a free camera is HorizonZD or RDR2. You can look in any direction and use your WASD to go in the direction you want. OBV this is personal preference thing, but its kills the controls for me. I guess Ill have to hope for a patch or a mod to fix this. I don't know how more people aren't bringing this up? There is a setting for the BIKE camera to be free and that's great, but there isn't one for the character. ( well there is, but it doesn't seem to do anything)

The beginning of the game was terrible, as in any game where they put you in the middle of the action on the default settings.
There's always some work to do to perfect it, but I've cleared the first location 100% and that's fine.

However, I don't completely understand the item selection wheel. It irritates me that Deacon keeps hiding his weapons every moment and I'm not really sure whether I will attack in a melee or fire.
But it's probably a matter of habit. Unless there's an option that I haven't noticed for weapons in your hands all the time?

Anyway, I was waiting for this game a lot, I was awake waiting for the premiere and after an hour and a half I was not disappointed. I'm glad that there is so much playing ahead of me.

Yikes, some of this mouse control sounds problematic.

Guess I'll take a look myself when I get home.. :steamsad:

Of course it feels bad. Stop expecting god tier k+m controls on these pc ports. I stopped after getting burned at Horizon Zero Dawn. You play Sony ports with a gamepad

Sensivity can be adjusted, all good for me.

I mean, if I wanted to use a gamepad on a third person shooter then I would have continued playing my savegame on the PS5.. Mouse aiming was literally the reason I opted to pick it up here too :steamsad:

That was a common complaint back in the day and no, there's no option for that. You will have to get used and remember to select the chosen weapon each time you want to use it like melee when getting close to zombies while sneaking, or a gun if some are running to you and have the option to take out some before changing to melee again.

It's even worse when the item you have in your hands is a bomb, for instance, and you forget to quickly change to a gun and end up wasting that bomb. The game keeps selecting an item on its own when you craft, when a scene is reset, etc so you must to be aware of that at every moment and choose exactly what you want to use, because you will never know what you are holding in your hands.

If you consider Red dead redemption 2 as a 0.1/10 for controls like I do, Days gone is probably a 6.5/10. It is very playable, but the game reminds you that it's a console game, sometimes here and there. I have no problem with shooting in heads, the aiming part seems kind of smooth, but like others said, sometimes the camera slow down so much for 1-2 seconds after an animation, it's horrible.
