Why game is hated?

I see a lot of Sony Ponys hating on this game and saying this game sucks and horizon is far better. I am really loving the world of this game than HZD and the game mechanics are very fun. I really don't get why the hate for this game.

also at the time of release there were a lot of sketchy reviews calling sam witwer out as a generic white male, or plain old white male should have used someone else they said. I believe it was gamespot or ign and some others

Because Days Gone was pretty badly optimized on PS4 during launch time. It got bad rep and sadly I listened to the internet so I forgot the game. But later on I picked the game super cheap on some PS4 sale and I was like what, the game is amazing and I finished the game in a week.

When it arrived to PC, I was happy to pay full price. I have played the story now 3 times (2 times on PC) and certainly gonna do 4th run.

Edit. I finished HZD story once on ps4, I also own the game on PC but never finished it again.

I never understood the initial Playstation reviews of Days Gone. Sure one could complain about the performance on the PS4- it certainly did have issues running on it. But everything else I found to be outstanding. Easily one of my top 10 all-time games. I kept thinking after each review if they had actually played the same game.
What's cool is that on Steam it's been overwhelmingly positive, ratings-wise. People playing it away from all the reviews and public opinion have generally really liked it. I just hope it does well enough on PC for them to consider making a second one.
But yeah, never understood those reviews. How all those people could play this and just see mediocrity I'll never understand.

I feel the opposite, I really tried to like Horizon but just didn't. On the other hand I LOVE days gone. The week it launched on PS i probably played it for 70 hours.

Every game has it's own haters.

Even beloved games like Witcher 3 and GTA games have lots of haters.

Because witcher 3 is actually a bad game with good plot so anyone who's into gaming wont like it. I havent played much of days gone but it already is better than 90% of playstation crap.

Yea, ultra bad combat system, tons of bugs, poor rpg elements, clunky hud etc. make for a great game
