Funny enough, it got about 1/10 as much potential but also 1/10 as much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design to hinder it.
Mad Max is great fun, its more in lines with the Batman Arkham series, unfortunately there is no difficulty settings so to make the game challenging is to use the least amount of upgrades and perks.
Try this
Dead Rising 1, 2 and 3 ??
Metro game series
STALKER games
Just Cause 3, what about 1 and 2 ??
Mad Max
Dying Light 1, but not 2
7 Days to Die
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Left for Dead
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. At £8.49 on Steam just now, that's gotta be worth a try
Anything I've missed? I've only trawled this thread for other games.
You all think Days Gone is a one off though? There's nothing else that brings all these elements together in the way Days Gone has. Seems a crying shame that there isn't a DG 2 in that case. Although where could the story go, to keep it flowing?
There are hints, at the end, that Bend Studios were planning a follow-on. Apparently Sony pulled the plug on it though. I get the impression the game had too many bugs, and critics were not keen on it. Sales were only OK, not outstanding. I'd guess that this was an expensive game to produce, so Sony expected a perfect game at roll out, which didn't happen although it never does anyway.
This two other games are a bit of a stretch in terms of comparing them to DG but Mercenaries and Sleeping Dogs have similar elements (open world third person action games).
Generation Zero doesn't sound promising, for the generation to follow.
Sounds worth having a look at though.
I'm certain I'd enjoy JC3 then. Those others seem worth looking at too.
The games I already have are mainly open world, third person, action. Tomb Raider 2013, Rise of T.R., and Shadow of T.R., (I played T.R. many years ago, possibly on a Windows 6.2 computer), the three Witcher games and Skyrim V, Elder Scrolls.
Now, if you want an open world game with an awesome story, guns and stuff, well RDR2 is probably on top. If you want something more modern, Metro Exodus is a decent game....And that is all that comes to mind. Hopefully I helpt you with this tedious and long reply. Cheers!
RDR2 Red Dead Redemption 2 ??
Thanks to you all. I'll bear all these comments in mind, when I'm looking for more games. At the moment my main priority is a new box of bits, and monitor. A 22" 1080p, factory locked at 60fps, won't cut the mustard any longer. I'm looking at 27" 1440p 165fps, ish monitors. Possibly with a curved screen, I'm not too sure about that though.
