Days gone 2 cancelled?

I heard a rumor that its cancelled, its a shame if its true cause i think Days Gone is one of the best open world games ive ever played.

they shot down the idea because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reception the game got when it came out, so yes and no it was never given the green light.

it did the bugs are what made the reception kill it

True but after they fixed the bugs the game was great, one of the best open world games ive ever played.

yeah but the heads of sony didn't like how many bugs there was so they shot it down when they pitched the idea.

Unfortunately Days Gone 2 might still be in development. Former devs said it was, Jason Schreier said it isn't. We won't know for a while.

Thats stupid if they did because the bugs got fixed and the second game has nothing to do with the first one, it could be bug free at release if they really polish it.

Yeah but saying "unfortunatly its still in development" sounds like he doesnt want it to be in development because otherwise it would have been phrased "fortunatly its still in development".

Since you constantly repeat that, i have to assume you never actually played any other open world game.
Otherwise i cant see any reason you came to that conclusion.

But hey, if you like it, fine.

I wouldn't say the mere idea of Days Gone 2 itself was cancelled. What happened was, Bend Studios pitched to Sony an idea about a fully multiplayer game set in the world of Days Gone, that would serve as the canonical sequel to the first game. Sony shot this idea down.

The game didn't deserve a sequel, it looked nothing like the E3 video.

Honestly, the fact no sequel will happen makes me want to avoid picking this up.

Unless of course the story ends in a proper way, but if it's a cliff hanger... screw that.

Don’t worry about there being no sequel. The game is still worth picking up. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, more like a “it could develop more this way” .

It’s not a cliff hanger but more of a… okay the sequel would explore that.
