Fix for the gamebreaking vr menu bug
The fix for the bug where you can't see the menu is to play the game at 90fps or less.
You can set your HMD to 90hz or alternately force motion smoothing from 60->120 or 72->144. This should fix it.

Has anyone actually tried playing Myst using an index ?
The controls are actually awful.
The Reset Height button doesnt work, or is mapped wrong.
The Camera button is so annoying as it seems to constantly take pictures when you try to access the menu.
The index mapping doesnt seem right what it posted in the menu.

What am i missing here please ? As currently, after about 20 mins i am considering refunding as its not playable and enjoyable presently on index.

I run all my valve Index games at 80hz, and still getting this bug. Haven't been able to save a game yet :(

I got the latest update today and I'm still not able to play the game because of the black screen bug. If the bug isn't fixed within the next few days, I have to refund it to get my money back, then wait a few months/years to but it for 1$ in some sale and just HOPE that the bug is fixed :/
I was really hyped to play this childhood series remastered in VR but until now I'm just disappointed. Not having a ingame menu is something that should have been tested in a beta rolluot with testers of different VR-hardware.

The Index controls are fine for me. When you press the camera button, the camera only turns on. It doesn't take a picture. There's a notice on-screen saying "Camera Mode On" or some such. If you press any other button, the camera turns off. Just stop pressing the camera button twice in a row and it will stop taking pictures.

I've also used the Reset Height option before but by accident so I don't remember what button it is.

Also black menu screen here running the EGS version.
When changed from 120 Hz to 90 Hz it worked fine.
Hard to keep 90 Hz anyway with high settings on Vive2 Pro, 3090 and 5900x.

I was trying to play the Oculus version on Quest via Virtual Desktop and the moment I chose 'Epic' the menu disappeared and never came back, playing at 90htz.
I intend to play it on my Index but I suppose the problem will remain.

Also, interacting with the menu, even when it was working, was really bad and hard. The pointer would point anywhere but where I wanted.

None of this works. Index headset with vive stick controllers. I see the menu but my hands never appear, i cannot select anything. Literally no other game has this problem.

So even after all those months they didn't fix this? Good thing i refunded after 10 days -_-
This isn't an issue for me, but what is an issue is I'm taking ages to load the game. I was able to load in after a long time, but after I hit a second loading screen I gave up and started to play the desktop version (which is still phenomenal). I thought it was this issue initially due to the absurd loading times.
Which is weird because it loads fine in desktop.

Vive OG with HTC Wireless Adapter, and the Vive Wands, and I have the issue.
I can't see hands or a pointer in the initial menu.
Vive OG is only 90hz, I have no refresh rate to choose.
I will have to refund.

When is this fix to be released? Almost a year later it's still not working.

There is no fix coming. The game is abandoned.

Maybr this helps out Quest 2 Oculus PCVR players of Myst. I encountered the dissappearing menu yesterday, after setting graphics to epic. I play the Oculus PCVR version of Myst on my Quest 2 through Virtual Desktop. However when I changed to Oculus Link the menu was back and I got to correct my settings. Setting all but one setting to epic worked for me. As long as the epic preset isn't triggered. Hope this helps some.
