DEATHLOOP
Performance WTF
Fristad Rock, heavy stutters drop the average FPS down to 20 with the 30% CPU and GPU load. The location is unplayable, I have already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up several times with mines due to the issues. How do I counter this?

Stutters appear only on camera movement, the game hits the FPS limit in static.

This game has the worst performance I've seen in a game. On a 4090 I've seen it drop below 100, and that's with DLSS on quality and raytracing maxed out. Epitome of 1st world problems I know, but literally every single other game I play runs at my capped 172fps, including Day Gone which has no DLSS and is huge open world and higher quality graphics and kinda better AI, and also the Spider-Man games which also have raytracing and hugely superior technical graphical fidelity (but much less interesting visual style of course)
Adding the game executable to my Windows Firewall exceptions via the start menu, for some reason, allowed me to play a full two days with no slowdowns - it was either that or dumb luck because everything from defragging to running the Windows memory diagnostics and checking my HDD health to check my computer components produced zero results.

The game is known to have performance problems with online mode being on. I was playing offline though, so optimization is still an issue.
Yeah something weird is going on with Fristad Rock in the afternoon. I was getting 144 fps with no dips before getting there and now performance has decreased across the board.
Check temps and power setting. Look for 'additional power settings' then go to "change plan settings" then go to "change advanced power setting" then look for processor power management and you can change the min and max processor states and cooling policy.

I have a 1070 desktop and 60fps screen, I would of got some drops like most games but nothing noticeable. It was pretty smooth for me, other than bad connections online. Rubber band so hard you cant change weapon. So I disabled online for most of it.

Same. Mine even drops to 60 fps after a couple missions (RTX 4080). I suspect there's some leaking going on as closing the game and booting it up again boosts my fps back up.
This game actually runs like dog poop. Thought I was bottlenecked by my CPU, since changing resolution didn't do anything... until I tried lowering texture detail, and the FPS is so much more consistent.
How does this game need so much VRAM on 1080p?? (I've got 8gb).
And why the actual ♥♥♥♥ does the game stop for a second whenever you open the menu?!

Even more proof Deathloop performance is busted, is that Portal RTX ran better for me, and that's a game that has notoriously bad performance so bad that the game is only mixed 50% positive on Steam lmao
Portal RTX ran absolutely awful on my system, not even comparable to Deathloop imo. Deathloop has some poor moments but the majority of my playtime was "fine" (80/90 fps).
Looks like Hogwarts Legacy has absolutely smashed Deathloop in being unoptimised.

From the forums I've seen people with rtx4090 reporting dropping as low as 40fps
People with rtx3090 and rtx3080 have dropped to 20fps
And people with rtx3060ti have dropped as low as 5fps

Maybe Deathloop isn't so bad after all xD

I am unpacking it now - I posted earlier with the 3080/Ryzen 7. Will update with how badly it runs compared to Deathloop.
