But aside from that, as others have said, if its not your land or you have no contract to work on it you will get the message that you do not have permission once you engage your tool on the land. It doesn't stop the tool from running, but it won't allow anything to happen to the crop either good or bad. This is why you can drive thru other fields (not your own) with no worry of damaging crops. You simply cannot change anything on land that isn't yours or you do not have a contract for.
If you take a harvesting contract for wheat and you try to collect the straw it simply will not collect because it isn't yours and that is not part of the contract.
Some mods in the modhub are effectively plow even if labeled as subsoilers, and can lead to this errors.
