Nightreign playtest scam -- anyone else get this?
Got a message from a friend on Steam saying "You have been invited to join a Steam Playtest!" Then there's a link and the preview says, "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Playtest Invite." Anyone else gotten this scam? And, it is a scam, right?

it's a scam, and your friend's account was probably hacked. Report to steam.

There is no steam playtest. Only Xbox series X/S and PS5

Be careful not to enter your account information on a fraudulent site

This might be a slightly old-ish post but worth the PSA:

1) You have to register for it. No one's going to invite you.

2) There's no test for Steam. If you get anything regarding a Steam test, is 100% a scam.

I got two from the same account even though I already reported it the first time lol.
This is clear scam. If you want to be part of a test team you likely have to register with FROM Soft and make an application proving that you are a distinguished player. Not that I would ever waste my time testing FROM SOft games on top of wasting it playing their final product

Such invites won't be random, clear scam

Don't listen to the people that call it a scam, they're just jealous that they didn't get one

Click that and enjoy the game

On the off chance someone's considering listening to this joker...

There is NO playtest for Nightreign on PC. ONLY Xbox and PS5.

https://www.bandainamcoent.com/games/nightreign/closed-network-test

Signups are also CURRENTLY CLOSED, nor did they EVER send out ANY invites.

Fake elden ring nightrein playtests. (INSTAGRAM AD)
New Scam
I was scrolling Instagram and i got an ad for elden ring nightrein steam testing. I entered my account info into the site, the site had the exact same url as steam so i didn't think it could be false. Then i realized the site wasn't working at all other then the login info. i've already changed my info but be careful as its not just a dm but an ad on instagram itself. The account advertising it is STORE_STEAMPOWERED with 205k followers.

I just got an link from a close friend and I like to think im good at not falling for this stuff, but idk why I clicked on it and put my info. I changed my password to both steam account and the gmail linked to it, and turned on 2fa for gmail, does anyone know if im ok?

It depends on if you also gave them the 2FA approval or if it failed at that step. Generally if you give them the login and the 2FA, they immediately seize your account and lock you out of it.
