Been seeing a lot of players, both invaders and hosts, with weapons and spells from the expansion. Puzzles me how they got them, as I'm playing with a new character and only just approaching level 60 and have only been active in Limgrave, weeping peninsula, and starting on Liurnia. I'm still holding my own with them and helping out in multiplayer with my basic twinblade (and im not particularly good at the game) , but that doesn't bother me. I think a lot of the DLC weapons and styles should be more accessible in base game.
It's a different story though when invaders start chucking out instant death spell hacks, what are you supposed to do
Block them in Steam.
I'd forgotten that weapon exists, never tried using it myself as by that time of discovery there are far better reaching weapons ive spent a lot upgrading. I just looked up on youtube how it works, and it couldnt have been they were just using that weapon as coded, because they were nearly the full length of the big courtyard in Stormveil castle away (the one that has the statue you can break for smithing stones).
I looked up video of Leda's Sword after Dizzy's comment, and yep, it looks like that swords skill, or at least the animation. I'm not sure what the range is on that, but it doesnt look like it inflicts deathblight build up. Again, I got no build-up of the ailment, which is really sus to me.
There could be something from the DLC im just not aware of but something tells me there was shenanigans going on lol
I'm not sure how to do that, TBH. I've been trolled and griefed before, with varying degrees of annoyance. But I dont take very seriously as its just a game where I spent 90% of my time dying anyway. Often it's funny, so it never occurs to me to block them, so I dont know how. Some kind of hacky OP franskenstein spell that is unavoidable is another matter though,, but TBH I dont even remember the invaders name nor the name of the person whos game I joined
if what you're stating here is true, there's a good chance you encountered some cheater
Yes that was my gut feeling too.
Obviously I've no way to prove to you what I say is true, other than to say I've got got no reason to lie - and I made the thread to see if I was ignorant of some weapon or incantation.
Thanks for that info. Very easy to find! Unfortunately though the list is completely blank. It says no multiplayer games I've played support this feature? I tried closing and restarting Steam 3 times in case it was just some refresh problem, but nope. It doesnt seem to tell me (Elden Ring is the only game I've had multiplayer sessions in for years)
I'll check later when I boot the game! Thanks Lord Bob
There's no limit on what you can put that thing on, because even boss weapons and other non buffable weapons can get that.
ooooh sneaky! That could explain it.
Is it one of them 'hotswapping' tricks you have to use KB&M for? I can never be bothered to try these kinds of exploits.
My level of exploits are "sneak up behind the bell-bearing hunter and slowly poison-mist them to death" sort of thing. 'Work smarter not harder' philosophy instead of straight-up cheating other players for a hollow victory.
To get this to work, you need to 2h it in your left hand, consume some boluses, (any will work) use the AoW just as you're munching it and then unequip the shotel, and just like that you'll have a deathblight buff in your right hand.
It's pretty common knowledge by now, because I had to deal with it quite a few times already... so might as well share it with everyone, because if more people know then maybe FS will patch it out faster in a hotfix or something.
