I swear i did the first time... and had just been failing the timing ever since.
At least in DS1, 2, and 3, the parry hitbox doesn't discriminate enemy vs friendly entity. It's also kinda tricky to time it out, but if anyone is willing to test it out, feel free.

Drink it right after "UNU" 1:13 in the video. IT HAS TO BE PERFECTLY TIMED.

You will take minor fire damage but no deadly hemorrhage buildup spam.
You are most welcome!
Or use Mohg's shackle
New players know where to find and use the tear thanks to this thread.
Futile after he growth wings. Only works during the first half of the fight so the only other option (not a option for new players) killing him before he starts to change phase.
New players reaching that point with 700 HP. Does that even happen ?
I've been helping people with Mohg since there's a lot of activity there for the DLC and yes, yes they do. They'll somehow have 700 hp, don't have a purifying tear, don't heal during the nihil and do like 300 damage a swing with their dual starscourge greatsword. I have no idea what they're leveling. They have to be at least level 105 to summon me.
