The healing procs like crazy and of course the Wild Strikes ash of war grants absurds amounts of hyperamor, letting you just plain murder knights or even trolls without even flinching after they hit you in the face.
Oh yes, bleed for the butchering knife does wonders.

It can be pretty strong in PvP if you figure out how to use it correctly. It gives a ton of hyperarmor. Works pretty well with CGS and offdag because they can't predict if you'll followup an attack with wild strikes or offdag. I've seen some of the tournament players run that before.
Also, it's not super useful but people don't really know that it has both a light and heavy followup attack. I've landed those a surprising amount in PvP because people just aren't familiar with them.
The Lands Between was already a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ place without destined death and many of its problems were already apparent before the Night of Black Knives. Marika also committed a fair few genocides and everything in the Lands Between was dictated by the Greater Will and the Golden Order.
Ranni, was able to free herself from the Order by killing her body, then seeks to be truly free by killing her Two Fingers, and her whole ending is essentially just letting everyone live without everything being predetermined and without any meddling gods or demigods. So much so, she leaves the Lands Between with the order/ring despite it being a self-sacrificial act for the benefit of the people living there.
She basically freed a bunch of people from eternal prison, and you're saying she's evil because some of them died. In a universe like Elden Ring, the ends justify the means.
Hopefully the DLC will give more insight into Marika and the Lands Between prior to the shattering.
There isn't a single sane person in the entire Lands between, with the exception of the finger readers, the turtle pope and the Tarnished, and that's because they just been resurrected when the game starts.
Also
This is after Ranni's plot, Godwyn death is the catalyst for Marika breaking the Elden Ring. We do not and cannot know how the Lands Between were before her coup, but death was in the Elden Ring, as Erdtree burial was part of their traditions.
Ranni is impossibly selfish, and may very well one of the most evil characters in the game.
