Exactly one time, when they dropped Marika from Sekiro DLC development(scrapped entirely) to effectively remove the need to create a proper "best boss" for this game.

I'm afraid second place is far behind her. Most of the DLC bosses are certainly better than most of the filler bosses in the base game, kind of objectively? but also imo

Isshin Ashina remains my favorite video game boss of all time.

Upon further inspection, this is way less story-driven and more gameplay-driven.

Which is very odd, because the two have always been in such parallel in Souls and ER. What you're doing makes sense, either in the moment, or later on. If there are to be story excuses made for what is ostensibly the work of paid modders, that would unfortunately lower Fromsoftware into the realm of "we make games. that's it." for me

Based on what the maiden says (looks like the shrine maiden from DS3), it looks like it's a FromSoft multiverse Souls game and it's up to the player to stop the universes from destroying each other and everyone.

Basically, it looks like Miyazaki is MCU-ing his games.
