Does it use Easy Anti-Cheat ?
Read online that it uses EAC but steam doesn't mention it. I'm only interested in single player of this game. If EAC is necessary to run it then i have to skip because i'm not running a kernel level anti cheat on my pc to play a single player game.

Correct. Elden Ring has Easy Anti-cheat, and it's not listed on the store page.

You can disable it, but you won't be able to play online unless you use Seamless Coop. If you plan on playing by yourself, then you can just turn it off and call it a day.

Thanks for your response.
Turn it off ? Can i play the game without installing it ? Or the game will keep installing it every time i launch it ?

you use windows so why concerned about a kernel level anticheat ?

because EAC could do things on your system some conspiracy freaks told you ?

just to inform you, you can deactivate eac always, you will not be able to play coop or read messages. eac does not contain any spy functions. there is other software to be concerned about you use with 100% chance.

There are multiple ways around it. A quick search via your favorite search engine will save both of us a lot of time. There are multiple sites and videos that explain how to do it, but I just did it through Seamless Coop, since it launches the game without EAC by default. I also got Elden Loader because all the mods I was interested in were in .dll form (like the "remove chromatic aberration" mod).

I don't think you can avoid having it on your PC if you are that iffy about it, but I'm sure it's inert unless you launch the game normally, so it shouldn't be a problem if you disable it before launching the game.

I'm sure you can also just delete it and play the game like that, and it would probably work.

Sorry to waste your time. I would have bought it and found out myself but i already got the warning from steam for refunding a few games.

I Shouldn't be concerned about kernel level anti cheats because i use windows lol ? Right. Kernel level is a pretty self explanatory term you don't need a conspiracy theorist or even an expert to tell you anything. Its a anti cheat software running at kernel level not a usb port driver so of course i have to be concerned.

Nah, man. I didn't mean it like that. It's just that there are multiple methods as far as I'm aware, and I never had to try any of them because Seamless Coop launches the game through itself. I just don't know how exactly you disable it, to be honest, but a few sites mention changing the name of some things in the game directory to do it. Must be pretty easy if it's just renaming a few files.

I will try searching more about this online. Thanks for the information.

Glad to help, if I did :mhwgood:

You can also get some mods while at it, if you end up buying the game. It runs perfectly fine if you unlock the framerate, for example, and some other mods let you adjust FOV or disable certain graphical effects (such as the vignette and chromatic aberration) that can't be disabled otherwise.

Yes, Elden Ring installs and normally requires EAC even for 'offline' mode.

However, you can get a very good tool on Nexus to disable and turn off EAC for Elden Ring (and turn it back on for updates).

It is important before disabling EAC to make sure that Elden Ring is set to 'offline' mode (in Elden Ring Settings) and that the Steam update is set to only update when you launch the game. Then check the downloads page before starting Elden Ring every time. If there is a pending update, turn EAC back on to do the update. Then turn it back off.

Note that you will still get all Achievements you earn even though EAC is disabled.

Good Luck
Have Fun! :)
