Who is the most alive feeling npc in your opinion? ( you can write down your favourites from other souls games too )
For me it was Alexander the Jareat
for DS2 - Emerald Herald
for DS3 - Siegward of Catarina

None of them are very alive by the end of their questlines.

I'm sorry. I'm leaving.

DS1, Tarkus
DS2, Gavlan
DS3, Pickle Pee, Pump-a-Rum
ER, Ghiza

I think Nephili is the only character with a potentially positive outcome in Elden Ring. It's all just tragic.

Otherwise, most alive characters:

DeS: Dog
DS1: Dog
DS2: Skeleton
DS3: Dog
Bloodborne: Dog
Sekiro: Tie between Monkey and Dog
Elden Ring: Dog wearing pope hat

lets say 9/10 of them :D ( and btw I'm meaning the interactions and their story etc. not state of 'being alive' )

Nepheli

I wish we had a little more to do with her tho. One of my favorite fromsoft characters because she doesn't end up like a dead rat on a sideway.

for DS1 it's Solaire and DS3 Catarina knight, I don't remember enough about DS2's npcs

In terms of sheer volume of lines, Kenneth Haight has everyone in the base game beat, plus unless you specifically murder him, he always lives.

I'm still mad over that ape gank fight but it is entirely optional at least.

Also, Gavlan wheel, Gavlan deal.
OP posted the most "I was an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow to the knee" list possible
Kind of a weird pick, but Gostoc actually had a pretty believable storyline and has some nice pettiness. He also can have a positive outcome at the end. Patches also surprising felt a little more fleshed out here and moves around the map pretty organically. Honorable mention to Rya.

In DS3, ma boy Siggy, no question. :praisesun:

In Sekiro, maybe the Sculptor.

Right I remember now, Gavlan was a real one.
