ELDEN RING

ELDEN RING

View Stats:
invaded by hacker, every save affected
I was invaded by a hacker that caused me to fall through the map. Although it was one instance, every separate save file now forces the character to fall through the map endlessly.
The roundtable trick doesn't work. Teleporting to any site of grace before dying causes me to fall through the floor regardless of where I end up.

Make sure to contact Bandai Namco support about this, they need to be made aware. The more reports, the better. This way we at least have the fraction of a chance of FromSoft actually doing something.

This will not help you fix your save file, it's a precaution you need to take when playing any souls game online, including Elden Ring:
On windows, type %appdata% into the search bar, hit enter, go to roaming and locate a directory called EldenRing. This is where your save file is stored. Copy and paste it somewhere safe, e.g. external hard drive, personal cloud storage and use it in case your save file accidentally gets overwrittenby Steam's cloud save feature or bricked by a cheate. Make sure to disable steam cloud save before starting the game, otherwise steam will overwrite your back up with the affected save file.

Take care!

sheesh, this sounds worse than the hacks that kill all the bosses

Specifically on linux machines, there are bypasses. Valve could technically patch proton distributables, but it's not easy work. Would be better if fromsoftware updated their netcode services, which is also not easy work.

Every character???? WTF! How does a hack affect every save?

I doubt this will work but you can try making duplicates of each save using:

https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/214

Hopefully with a bit of luck the duped save might reset the spawn.

Warning, do not use the Stat editor it will get you in trouble XD

I'm also finding now that I'm not just falling through the floor. The instant-kill effect of every status buildup is now tied to every save file, which also kills every NPC and every enemy in render distance.

Thats mental... the chances of saving your saves seems bad. How does a hacked script even do this...?

It's been three years since release, and people found a way around it.

the problem is host and invader share the same world variables, if a invader manipulate on his side them it get applied to the hosts.

this case would be the first that this happens for all chars and i think this is not true.

something also to note is that when attempting to use a different character, that character loads into the position of the affected character.
so when trying my lvl 90 save instead of the lvl 140 save that was originally altered, i load into the position of my lvl 140 and again clip through the map endlessly

In that case I would re-install the entire game in hopes that it will rid you of the infected script.

this is basically impossible, since each char has it's own instance and variable set. this would mean a rce attack happend and you would directly get false banned by eac.
so i would say you made up this.
