I'm pretty sure the highest burst damage build involves the Sword of Night and Flame

At 80/80 on NG+7, I'm getting consistent 2k hits, and even 3.5k with the flame swing on the enemies at Gatefront.

I haven't done extensive testing, but this is pretty absurd considering the main sacrifice here is the 80/80 Fth and Int. But at higher levels this is much less of an issue, esp considering the buffs you can apply.

Thoughts?

What buffs did you use? Also, did you apply an Oil Pot prior to attacking? Should make for even more damage.

But yeah, fire damage makes for an insane amount of burst damage. The last time I tested something like that was with Giantsflame Take Thee and I hit for similar numbers, but that was in ng and many many patches ago.

You know, I didn't even use the fire buff or oil pots. Good callouts.

I'm going to go for max damage and report back later. I'm thinking the best practice dummy is the troll outside of Secluded Cell.
