Do most people play seamless coop now or the base game?

It's hard to compare one to the other, especially in regards to how each respective multiplayer style works. Vanilla lets you join random players, seamless only as long as you set the same password as someone else.

Considering that steam only shows the online status of players playing Elden Ring regardless of them using a mod (or not), it's difficult to give an estimate about where the bigger pool of players currently is.

My guess: try either and see which you enjoy more/has more activity.

Seamless is better if you want to mod. Vanilla is better if you want your saves bricked by coop or pvp hackers. XD

Creating regular save files backups is recommended either way, no matter if you're playing seamless or vanilla.

Vanilla if you want random co-op.
Seamless if you want to play with friends (and optionally without invaders).

Vanilla is pretty active.
I see 2 or 3 signs at major bosses currently with level 250+ character.

And my level 174 character is summoned a lot.
Mostly at Promised Consort but still

Seamless shills will often like to act like they killed vanilla.
Take a drop of water from the ocean and most of the ocean is still in the ocean.

Coop and pvp(random invasions) still quite active at various matchmaking ranges.
(some areas have always had low population not all areas have same popularity)
Various signs at intermittent locations as well as consistent summoning pool signs.
"Most" people still play the vanilla game.

If your playing solo then theres no actual reason to use seamless cheat and just stick with vanilla unless your wanting to group with other friends or to avoid intended multiplayer pvp when co-oping.

seamless concept is neat, but its broken af, u'r game WILL crash lol

You can't randomly play with other people in seamless, you need to coordinate password with others if you want co-op. Also, there is no anti-cheat, when it comes to invading or getting invaded, prepare for just plain ol' blatant hacking.

Seamless unofficial public password is 1234. I have played with dozens of random people where I just joined them whenever they were. I dont know if I would risk that NOW, since hackers can do the same thing they do in vanilla ER, but its possible.

As for the 'Not-Seamless shills who often act like they killed the mod', it must suck to have Seamless more popular than ever despite all your negativity huh XD

Nobodies acting like they killed the mod dont be dramatic.
Its quite the opposite with those loud few claiming a cheat has surpassed the vanilla game.
At most jokes are made when it breaks upon steam updates until the seamless cheat gets fixed.

The Seamless cheat isnt more popular tho. thats the funny thing.
Is it popular? Yes. Do more players use it than Vanilla? No.
Anyone that would normally play the game as intended still plays the game as intended.
Nothing of import was lost.

Knowing that the seamless cheat takes basically nothing away from the playerbase isnt the same as actively hating or acting like it doesnt exist.

Ive said multiple times that if one wants to cheat in order to have the experience one wants on the game then by all means. as some features do streamline the multiplayer experience. But its certainly not the same game if one is gonna cheat.
