Improving my Samurai in Shadow of Erdtree
I am really having hard time in the expansion despite being around level 189 and all my main weapons fully upgraded, I feel like I am realing too much on my Tiche spirit Ash with bosess.

I am considering respec or trying to get proper gear or better bleed weapons.

I have all the majors Katanas from the base game, Moonveil, Melenia Hand and River of blood Uchigatana, Nagakiba , Dragon Scale and Meteoric Ore Blade, I am wearing Ronen Set but I feel like I need to get better Armor cuz I am EASY dying if I am not careful.

current Stats:
Vigor : 53
Mind :30
Endurance:33
Strength:23
Dexterity:52
Intelligence:50
Faith:8
Arcane:20

Talismans using : Crimson Amber Medallion+3,Crimson Seed Talisman, Rennala Cameo, Green Turtle Talisman.

Your suggestions?

I don't see any staff in the weapons you listed, are you actually casting any sorceries? If not, get rid of most of the Int and allocate the points elsewhere, maybe vigor to hit the soft cap of 60. Just keep enough to be able to use Moonveil and Meteoric Blade.

Other than that, your build looks fine. Make sure to look for Scadureee Fragments and to activate them at any site of grace, to raise your defense/damage while in the Shadow Lands.

Dlc works with a different method called scadutree fragments , doesnt matter what level you are , if your scadutree fragment level is 0 you are gonna be very weak, Check that u have a good amount of scadutree levels first , thats probably the problem.

Also you should focus on one build , thats a common mistake. I see all your stats spread around all stats almost , thats bad . You cant do multiple builds and be strong on all unless ur reacthing levels 400+.

Pick weapons you like , with the same scaling in attributes and level up their scaling to the soft caps , i dont remember exactly all the soft caps values but its something like :

Vigor : 60
Dexterity / Inteligence / Arcane / Faith : 80
Strength : 60
Endurance : Between 25-35 you should be mostly fine , depending on the gear

Add me if you want more direct help

*You need to change the talismans a bit too

30 mind is complete overkill for a 'samurai'.
I get that knife tiche costs a lot of fp to summon but not that much.you're better putting some of those minds into a more useful stats as you're not a mage and you can just have one or 2 flasks for mana regen

Absolutely. But allocating 27 points (min Int req for Moonveil is 23) to boost the weapon art of one, or maybe two Katanas they use seems kind of like a waste, especially since they're trying to get a samurai going and not a spellblade.

Seven points could be allocated into vigor, and 20 into a combination of dex for higher general damage for every weapon they use and armor with better absorptions.

Like everyone else is saying if you're playing a straight samurai drop the Int and some of the Mind. I'd say even drop a little Strength as well, iirc none of the Katanas requires that much. If you want to use more Bleed, boost your Arcane. You can also bump your Vigor up a bit and even invest in a little extra Endurance if you want to use some of the really heavy armor with medium rolls. If you want some advice on gear, we can help out there as well.

I guess you kind of already did actually. Well, first of all there's an upgraded version of the Green Turtle Talisman in the DLC that you can get really early on. That would be a good one to look for. The Rellana Cameo is only really going to be a good option if you heavily use one of the AoWs that benefit from it, which for Katanas would be Unsheathe. Up to you if you want to keep it or not. The Crimson Amber and Crimson Seed certainly aren't bad choices, but if you want to get the most out of your build I would look at some more offensive options. If you want to lean on Bleed, the Lord of Blood's Exultation is an obvious choice. It's also hard to go wrong with Alexander's Shard.

As for armor, there are a ton of options. It's up to you if you want to stay thematic or not. Some of the best options stat-wise though are the Crucible Knight sets, Radahn's set, and the Cleanrot Knight set. All of those are available comparatively early in the base game.

Well I kinda locked my self from getting Alexander's Shard...(One of he biggest mistakes I did in early game) and no plan on starting NG+, I have the weaker version though.

No big loss. Just grab those Scooby Snacks and you'll be fine.

Scadutree Fragments. It's a mouthful, so a lot of people here just call them scooby snacks.

Well I strated Farming to gear up my Character, I am planing on War Ash bleed Uchigatana or Nagakiba, I Think I saw Ashes of War that is somewhat similar to moonveil transient moonlight which I like to use A LOT but without the magical effect, where can I get? it.
Noop 8. dec. 2024 kl. 8:27
The build is just terrible in general. Get 60 vigor, get more endurance and wear proper armor, get less str as Im pretty sure moonveil does not need 23 str randomly, take out dex to put into int, switch out talismans for stuff that actually boost the attacks you want, or defense and lastly start using magic. Why the ♥♥♥♥ do you spec into magic just not to use any magic? Hell nah the game has super cool and strong magic, go and use it at range while moonveil is for melee/close range.

Like all 4 of your talismans do nothing for your build and are just suboptimal with the stats and build you use. You can totally beat the DLC with moonveil aow spam, and although that is a little boring now you know how to do that cuz of what other people said and I said again.

your build is all over the place. you should pick your absolute favorite weapon and build specifically for just that weapon. stat points you have leftover after hitting soft or hard caps can be allocated to using your other katanas, making your main katana more effective and giving more HP/end, while reducing the effectiveness of stuff you dont use as much. what is your favorite one?
