Alecto, how I hate you (Vent Thread)

I hate Alecto. No boss in the game has given me as much trouble as Alecto is. She is just so fast that I can barely do anything because I had to spend my stamina dodging her attacks.

Her stupid AoE slam move keeps getting me because you have to roll ike 5 times to get out of range.

You'll get out of the AOE more easily if you just run instead of spamming roll. If you're using an INT build use the frozen greatsword spell from the nearby dragon. Use a jumping R2 on her lunge attack.

Yeah, Alecto sucked for me too. I got killed like 27 times before I FINALLY effing got her down.

doesnt matter if you roll away, her "ash of war" attack just tracks you, better of running/rolling towards her

Setting aside cheese: Roll into her unless you think she's releasing her AOE, then run like hell don't roll. Frost attacks are her downfall. If you're a caster you'll find that if you use Adula's Moonblade and approach the fight like you would a strictly melee encounter it'll be a LOT easier than trying to keep range. She goes down very quickly to that particular great sword spell

I was struggling for a bit, but found bloodhound step extremely useful in avoiding their AoE attack. The rest of the fight was just carefully dodging and slowly punishing her moves with single attacks.

i really havent encountered it in pvp, npc's at the great jar used it, in pvp been spammed to death by magic and dragonbreath attacks
(and i used vykes lol)

I learned the hard way that running backwards when you see that mini Waterfowl Dance coming is the best medicine. The rest of the fight is trivialize if you can avoid that.
