Caria Manor severed hands, what the heck!?

So I ran into this enemy and what the actual? I don't even get time to learn any of its moves before I'm dead. The most obnoxious enemy I have faced in my 40 hours in this game.

They are extremely tough to fight head-on, but they have 2 weaknesses. First is fire, anything fire will burn them severely and force them to roll around on the ground for a while. The second is maneuverability, they cannot turn from side to side easily. If you can strafe and roll around to their side and get behind them they are defenseless.

You will meet them in other places and they will try to hug you <3

[Augustine]

they are actually weak to slash, fire damage just stuns them. You can also sneak up on most of them and get a charged attack, their nails stick up from the ground and can be hit.

They can be pretty obnoxious with their hitbox and speed, but on replay, I found them less annoying.

Thanks for the tips MULTIPASS. I was loosing my mind with these things lol. Darkstorm I do not look forward to that. They are not only annoying but very creepy. They remind me of the Demonic Hands enemies in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean.

Cool bit of visual lore behind these enemies. If you fight Rykard, take a good look at his hand when he pulls the blasphemous blade from the serpent's mouth. It's exactly the same as all those big hands in Caria manor, and Rykard of course is a member of the Carian family. Bet he magicked all those hands into existence from his own.

I ran into some near Volcano Manor and I nearly upchucked on my keyboard. WTF FROM ??? Then I ran into a giant with an octopus head that vomits poison.

I suspect that Clive Barker is on the payroll at FROM.

The hands are a nightmare in your first playthrough since you don't know how to fight them. But anything fire related cripples them and makes them a non issue. It's fun to throw a firebomb at them and watch them helplessly flail around like a dying insect.

They hate fire

Not only are they weak to it, they are stunned by it. Keep that in mind. If you have the Radahn Soldier ashes they can clear out pretty much the entire courtyard by themselves.

this is illuminati sht, if i play this game at my 16 years old i would scared the sht out any kinda hands, hands gestures, hands related everything forever and ever. Some games making this fear for diffrent topics, play dmc5 you ll get disgust from vaginas i swear.

Fire really made them way easier to deal with! It was very satisfying to finally cut them down to size without too many issues. Thanks!

As a last alternative, you can just sneak around them. There are a bunch of annoying enemies in the game that you can honestly just skip, like runebears or zamor warriors or these hands.

Wait until you meet the bigger version in Volcano area and the bigger version in Snowlands, lol.

Yes, there is like four sizes of them. Fortunately the later on you can ride horseback and run circle to remain behind thee wrist.

dunno if someone said it already but they hate fire:
-use fire bombs (or any other fire item except volcano bombs)
-close the gap and charge an r2 to break their stance, hopefully is enough to kill them

their moveset is very annoying, and it easy to get roll catch to death by them but with the right timing you can dodge everything
