I'm having trouble thinking of how the weapon could have those 3 specifically. Bleed and poison are easy with the black whetknife, how do you get frost though?
- Ashes of War such as "Chilling Mist"
- Glintstone Whetblade
For example, Flamberge. Has innate Bleed. You pick "Chilling Mist" as your AoW and Poison affinity. Alternatively, you pick "Poisonous Mist" as your AoW and then Cold affinity.
Congratulations, now you have a pretty good greatsword with three status effects.
Take the Uchigatana for example, it has innate bleed effect. If you put the Poison affinity on it it will deal poison and bleed build-up while the actual numbers that are stacking are lower.
If you then buff this weapon with the greases i.E. the Frost Grease it will deal 3 status effects build-ups.
So i think it is clearly possible.
You can't do that, though. You can't take a magic/INT ash and give it an arcane affinity, and you can't take a poison/ARC ash and give it a magic/INT affinity. You can only mix affinities of the same type.
The poison ash can be used with bleed, poison, or occult affinity. The frost ash can be used with magic or cold affinity.
This doesn't work either, I just checked. A weapon with poison affinity cannot take grease. You could use poison mist ash and give it something like keen affinity and use the weapon skill to add a poison buff, but the weapon can only take 1 buff at a time and the grease would overwrite the poison effect.
The only triple-status weapon I'm aware of is the antspur rapier. It starts with rot, and then through ashes you give it poison or bleed and the ability to buff with poison or bleed through the skill.
My guess is something happened in the fight that they just didn't pick up on. The scythe was probably bleed/frost which is very common, and the poison came from something else like an offhand dagger.
question tho... can some sythe cast magic or incatations ?
