Healing Incantations in coliseum

Why are they allowed? I queue into a match of coliseum with heals turned OFF. Heals being Flasks of Crimson Tears. They made a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ oversight though, as healing spells are still allowed, for... some... reason... and for my fellow avid PvP'ers out there, I'm sure you have either encountered this (and probably wanted to perform a Hoarah Loux grab attack on your controller afterwards), or you're one of the culprits, in which case, please, stop. Just because the devs made this oversight, doesn't mean you need to haul your half-beaten ass across to the other side of the arena and heal it right back to full, leaving honourable combatants such as myself feeling betrayed and quite honestly wanting to quit PvP overall. Seriously, the PvP problems already stack high enough to make the Erdtree look like a twig, what with latency that lets my opponent hit me with a dagger from the other side of the map, poor matchmaking for any coliseum mode other than 1v1s, and a plethora of one-shot builds that turn an honourable duel into an experience akin to a boxing match with a combine harvester, so do we really need the absolute fools who still manage to get their posterior wrecked whilst playing with a max dex/arc or greatshield build against a regular, functioning human being, running away and healing back to full, as many times as they want (trust me, FP does not run out that quickly, and I saw a guy with really low mind stat pulling it off several times, and given that the faith requirement on stuff like Lord's Heal basically guarantees that they have at least one showstopper move to punish you for overcommitting to try and prevent the heal, so you can't always just blitz their health bar quick enough to end it before they can get away)? I feel as though instant heals should be banned at least, but preferably also gradual heals, as they can grant a deceptively large amount of health for very little FP expenditure. Anyways, enough ranting. Opinions?

I agree, on top of the normal latency problems this game's pvp is flawed for some of us meaning it is not what we want. I love cosplaying and making thematic builds. I now use them for PVE and just unleass vs invaders.

Problem with adapting is, that is is booring, I did it in the previous games and you just end up with a build that has an answer for everything and has no identity, feels like a tryhard clone that just wants to win not have fun with the dance.

Stay arround level 90, it is more healthy, max 125 but the higher you go the more low skilled players that rely on gimmicks you will encounter.

The game has so much fashion options that it begs to be a RP game, so no wonder a lot of people play it this way. And despite the large amount of fodder players that are just, idk, weird, there are those who is such a joy to fight against, win or lose as they stick to killing you a certain way as do I when I fight them.

Beware tho, play arena long enough and you might just become the chimera with a standard everything build.

Honestly ... I dont mind heal there, I dont use, I go full melee, what I mind is ...
I have chars at lvl 30, 50, 70, 140, 250 ... and I could not find 3x3 coliseum matches despite waiting for minutes and minutes (before it was seconds even with the lvl 250).
What happened? No one else plays 3x3?

I never minded the kill steals, was just having my fun hunting down mages/pyros/archers while dueling someone else, or sometimes everyone was melee too

Yeaaaah as many ppl already pointed out:
Your own fault if you let them run away too far from you and let them cast a slow af healing spell on top of that too.
These have like a, what, 3-4 sec cast time?!
You can easily hit people out of them or punish with chain attacks or a stab in the back.

You guys obviously just skim-read my post, as you miss the point about as badly as you can. I told you why I cannot afford to just run after someone and try to cancel the heal. With latency being what it is, I can get hit for half my health bar by some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stunlock with no windup just because I either lagged for a few frames, or because these idiots have infinite poise and I can't cancel a thing they do. And for those of you saying that these incantations have very slow windups, A: they do not, and it's easier to get away than you think, and B: the dexterity stat, which is widely used in arenas due to the impressively low skill level of the average player going into pvp, actually reduces spell casting time, and I believe there is also a talisman with the same effect (Radagon Icon I think). For those trying to help me out with this problem, I appreciate the thought and the effort, but don't bother. Your tips are usually useless, for one reason or another. And for those who are saying I'm just another Elden Ring player complaining about balance, yes. Yes, I am. I am complaining (although I prefer the term "protesting") because I care about Elden Ring, enough to play it a lot, and once I inevitably get bored of the main story, with co-op being as difficult as it is to get matchmaking for, I decide to do some invasions. I then get 3v1'd and die to a bunch of strangers hundreds of levels higher than me, which is fine, as they probably didn't want to be invaded in the first place, and so I go into the arena, hoping for an honourable, no healing, fight to the death. And when this last resort in which I hope to, and occasionally do, find a fair and interesting fight, has its sanctity trodden on and defiled by some neckbeard playing from the depths of the Irithyll Dungeon, I can't help but feel insulted (Yes I know this isn't Dark Souls 3 and so the reference is rather out of place but ♥♥♥♥ off, I know I'm stupid). And to level my character to obscene heights and use a one shot build of my own would leave a bad taste in my mouth, so don't even suggest it.

Shoutout to Narm for having a functioning brain and an above-average sized you know what, and thanks to Senor Brown for falling for the bait.

Thanks for not reading my post. As such, you completely misunderstood my argument, or, more accurately, had no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what my argument was, and as such, made a point which I have already covered. Read it first or just don't bother, you'll make yourself look like a dunce.

This is the last time I’m going to look at this thread. I’ve been thinking for a while and whilst my opinion remains unchanged, I was incredibly inconsiderate to everyone who took the time to give me their opinions, just like I asked. I got frustrated that so few people understood my struggles, and I forgot that in this community, complaining about something is just asking for people to gatekeep you and tell you it’s your fault. In future I won’t complain about problematic features, as it is obviously just a me problem. And no, I will not be trying to “git gud”, I will just be trying to enjoy myself more, and remember that it’s just a game.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to help me out with this issue, even if it was just to laugh at me. I hope the next person who complains about something in this game gets slightly better treatment, but even if they don’t, hopefully they shall themselves glean knowledge and experience from an otherwise sour experience.
