Caelid is proof this developers are now out of touch
Seriously this is stupid have you been to Caelid? dumb question too get it? It is so close to the start everyone is going their early probably before the southern portion of the map and traveling to Caelid instead where it's only death. So stupid it is not even the map layout it is even a trap right WHEN YOU LEAVE the starting zone to the lower area and entering the ruins a entrance will teleport you to Caelid into the mines and you have trapped there like that out of nowhere how does it feel to a new player to that happen to and then quit?

Caelid should not be there make it large starter zone because it's lazy to just put Caelid there when that zone should be more starter area and Caelid off the side of North West Liyanaria of the Lakes where it really belongs think about it you know it makes sense. Talk to so many playuers who quit Elden Ring know what they say? It was because Caelid or they quit there because of it.

People complain also about the birds and dogs but it's fine really think about that too it's good practice for toughter enemies beyond just move Caelid to North West of Liyarnia of the Lakes and it is better.

I wanted more surprise like Caelid, it's actually a really nice change of pace.

Sure because the look of a rotten mess with nothing but decay does not tell you straight away that the place may be increadibly hard...

But the memes are so good. Don't take Caelid away.

You know you can just leave right

Cry more. Nothing forces people to go to the creepy rot infested hellscape that early in the game, and even if you take the teleport to the mines you can always ya know...leave? Teleport back home? If people quit because of Caelid it is because they did not git gud and it weeded them out.

I did, indeed, go to Caelid immediately before exploring most of Limgrave, south, or west. I quite liked Caelid, overall, and it was fine at level 1 except the morningstar cave boss or whatever its name is.

As for that cave? You literally just run past everything and roll if you can't kill stuff, though everything there is easy to kill... If you can't even escape that place in 2-3 attempts you should go ahead and uninstall now.

Totally optional area btw

i liked it, it gave me the same moment i had with my first time playing Dark Souls 1 and being too stubborn to turn back when killing the skeletons who could 3 shot you i got all the way to the grave of giants... escaping was alot harder then getting in...

And how dare this souls game be too difficult for me?!

You can crouch your way out of the mine you get teleported to without fighting anything, then warp as soon as you rest at the grace at the entrance; you are by no means trapped there.

while back on my first playthrough that i never finished, i didnt even fight godrick and went straight to the magic academy gates and kept getting wrecked by the glinstone dragon lol. i'm glad i'm looking online on what to do cause i really had no clue lol.

Caelid is just a big graveyard with skeletons near firelink shrine
Sabaithal Nov 13, 2022 @ 12:58am
So apparently the red skies, lack of greenery, oddly strong dogs out front of a burning church, and the massive scorched stone wall blocking the main path into the region (if you're online no doubt having messages along the lines of "regret ahead, therefore turn back") wasn't enough of a hint that this was a nasty place?

Not to mention the BGM which sounds less like music and more like something dying slowly and painfully in the distance.
