Up to a point, community "honor" systems make a certain amount of sense; the unspoken code for duels, for instance, functions as a community-created framework for voluntary PvP.
For the most part, though, I'm with you. Attaching any part of your sense of self to whether or not you beat a game "the right way" is definitely lol-worthy.
