It gets boring (eventually). *READ THE EDITS*
Lets be real, after you've finished the story basically three times for the platinum, it eventually gets boring. You can realistically play pvp for about 25 or so hours before you either rage quit cuz it gets too hard or you become so good at it, there's no real competition so its not fun anymore. I liked helping out new players, basically spent 50-60 hours or so just helping them out and frankly at this point that's the only thing that is entertaining for me. I always want to come back to playing Elden again so if any of you need a COOP partner or just general help in the game, Lemme know :er_wave:

Edit 6: WHY AM I WRITING EDIT 6 BEFORE 1 AND IN ALL CAPS? SO PEOPLE WOULD READ IT FIRST. LET ME CLARIFY, THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OR THRASHING OF ELDEN RING (IT MIGHT LOOK LIKE IT) , THIS IS A REALLY REALLY BAD WAY OF ASKING PEOPLE IF THEY GOT BORED PLAYING IT ALONE LIKE ME AND IF THEY WISH TO PLAY COOP, THAT IS ALL. I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THE ACTUAL GAME, IT'S LITERALLY MY FAV GAME OF ALL TIME. I COULD'VE WORDED THIS BETTER INITIALLY.

Edit 1: i should've specified playing it alone without multiplayer, coop never gets boring.

Edit 2: After careful consideration i've discovered the best solution to my boredom is to replay it a 5th time with a Strength/Faith build (again) like how Miyazaki san intended.

Edit 3: I did not expect to get this many replies and honestly i expected the worst (this is the Souls community after all) but nah it was better than I thought. Thank you all for the suggestions tho. I think I’ll touch grass irl and not in limgrave :)

Edit 4: I wanna clarify, it’s not that serious. I just wanted to say some of you like me might get bored after finishing it 3-4 times and playing alone without coop won’t be as entertaining. I honestly don’t know why people wrote some crazy stuff in the thread lmao, folks it’s not that serious . The whole point of this post was for me to find someone to play Coop with which I guess people didn’t even notice that bit XD. Anyways I loved the replies, Take care you guys.

Edit 5: I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING I SAID.

Edit (final): Like Vaas Montenegro said “Insanity is doing the exact same f**king thing over and over again, expecting sh*t to change” so… before I go insane trying to get back to playing Elden ring somehow and expecting it to feel the same like the first time I played it, I’m gonna play other games for a while and touch grass. Btw To those who are new and reading this, this thread is not about Elden ring anymore it’s all about GARFIELD KART FURIOUS RACING now, so feel free to tune into that discussion (shoutout to Automaton-37467). This is me signing off, see ya guys.

Let's be real: anything you invest a hundred hours or more in, several times, repeatedly, will eventually become less exciting than it was the first time around.

Uh, no, I don't think I will be real with you on this one.

I think i should've specified "without friends or coop". Playing it alone isn't that fun after a certain point.
Koala 4peace Oct 19, 2024 @ 2:03pm
I mean, as someone who played and replayed the likes of FF7, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger to an absurd degree, i may not have the position to say that you have simply played the game far too much and it's normal that you got bored, but holy hell...

I've played a lot of other games in between too but honestly replaying it alone without coop didn't seem that fun to me anymore, maybe that's just me.

"...pvp for about 25 or so hours..."
"...50-60 hours or so just helping..."
Are these typos? Did you mean 250 and 500-600 maybe?

EDIT: Let the edit game, begin

You are just putting this like if you discovered hot water....OP.

Diversify, try something new in Elden Ring! Builds, goofy boss challenges or as you mentioned help other players. After all variety if the spice of life.....Or that what they say. Pity the salt is not a spice.

As someone that loved this game from the start to the end....3312hrs of playtime. The game will get boring ye.....maybe.s you can always change up your build for the next playthrough, go for RL1 challenge, use weapons that are out of your comfort zone, many different builds varieties to choose from. Like I just got done doing a smithing dagger only run and it was pretty enjoyable.

After all that, I don't plan to play this game for another 1-2 months, but I'll be back, ELDEN RING is amazing for many years to come :)

I absolutely agree this is an amazing game. I honestly don't know how you guys manage to get past the 600 hour mark playing it alone but to me yeah i've completed the game 4 times and after Shadow of the erdtree without coop, it just doesn't hit right. I personally don't think i would do challenge runs tbh thats why to be COOP exploration playthroughs are better.

You're absolutely right, my god i was such an idiot. I should totally do another Strength/Faith build playthrough! The solution was right infront of me and i was too blind to see it.

The solution--as many have suggested--is to play something else for a while.

Like Koala, I've been playing Chrono Trigger at least once a year since it launched back in 1995. I'm probably getting close to 100 runs at this point, and yet, somehow, I'm not sick of it.

This is in part because it's the greatest JRPG ever made (if you disagree, you have a right to your opinion; you also have the right to be wrong), but in much larger part it's because I do things like go to work, spend time with my wife, hang out with my dogs/cat, work in the yard, and when I play video games (this is the kicker) I don't exclusively play Chrono Trigger until I'm sick of it.

Strange, I know, but just try it. You may find that the bare minimum of absence will make the heart grow--if not fonder--at least slightly less bored.
