What a bad take, plenty of people like to keep their characters. This isn't an online only game from the 90's, this system of 10 character slots is outdated and should not be encouraged.
appdata-roaming-eldenring-"steamID"-er0000.s12 is your save file.
It doesn't really make a lot of sense.
Why would you care what someone wants to play. If someone gets bored with this game in 20 hours, that is their right. If someone wants to play this game for 10.000 hours, that too is their right, and it should also be their right to keep their characters in a single player game. I have games with dozens of hours and 100%'ed them, just like i have games with thousands of hours, it's none of your business what people play and how many games they have.
People generally don't want to respec characters for no reason, also removes the idea of going for a certain build for that character. It also should not be the players responsibility to mess around with save files to make room for more characters.
I say Diablo 2 Resurrected is a perfect example. Regular Diablo 2 closed battlenet had 20 character slots, meanwhile Resurrected has 10 again, they actually regressed. You pay money to have less slots in online play while also having no private connection anymore. Diablo 4 as well, 10 character slots, you give them big money and they can't even give you a proper amount of character slots. I have random games on Steam with like 1 gig worth of storage for save files even though there is no way to fill that up, yet Blizzard can't give me 50mb.
