I think that would be cool. Could still have Souls combat and exploration, just with castle building added on lol.
I liked the lore of dark souls, but got bored of checking out the lore of ds2 and 3. The world and my goal in it was already clear to me from the first game. To still make it somewhat interesting from software basically had to make big timeskips between these titles to be able to make significant changes to the world, so they have something new to tell. Not a fan of it and I dont think miyazaki was either.
People are just bad at letting go, hoping that playing elden ring 2 would be just as great as playing the first. They want to stay in a universe they are already familiar with and that they like. In reality if you want to have that feeling of playing elden ring for the first time again it would be best for from software to move on and create an entire new world. Yes there is the risk of that new universe not being as interesting to you as elden ring was, but in my book it is still better than playing it save and "milking" the elden ring universe.
Edit: Why give this thread a clown?
If they ever want to make more - they can just make a couple of extra DLCs. No shortage of characters in need of a closure around here.
Sekiro 2 though, now that would be the ♥♥♥♥.
They could also create a possibly completly different game based on the outer gods of the Elden ring universe.
We are still digging the lore so not to speak early, but godwyn and gloam-eyed queen might have more to them. I don't care enough to see a sequel for them though, maybe a DLC.
Other than that, exactly as you said i don't think it'll be as good as playing the first one. So just let them do what they do best: come up with something totally new.
