is there any possible way I could run this game with 8GB of Ram?
I really want to play elden ring, but when I try I always have constant crashes I'm assuming because of the ram my laptop has. would there be any possible way to run the game with 8gb ram? I using a Asus Zenbook Produo 14.

absolutely not and I doubt a laptop with 8gb RAM would come with a good enough gpu

if it does have a good enough gpu tho, you should check if your laptop's memory is upgradeable. Maybe you can buy more RAM

Nah. un-upgradable. so devastating.

I was able to play quite comfortably with 12gb of ram but I did have a few minor performance issues and had to tone everything down to medium, 8gb might be possible but I'd expect some notable performance drops even at minimum settings
and probably a LOT of troubleshooting as well

Minimum requirements is 12GB. It can run off 8GB but will crash after awhile.

when I have the game open task manager says it's using around 6gb but since windows already needs a few gb just to run I doubt it would ever work on an 8gb machine

i5-8300
8 GB Ram
Nvidia GTX 1050ti 4GB
In a Legion 7 ( I think, it's been several years )
Those were my specs until about 2 months ago. I played this game with very little issue since release.

Yo, exactly my specs until I got more RAM before the dlc released. CPU is an i7 of some sort I believe, GPU is the same.

Looks like we're potato buddies.

edit:
getting more (and new) RAM notably improved performance for me.

Games are getting more demanding, 8GB just isn't enough anymore.

My game barely uses 4gb ram on max settings.

you can use cloud services to play ER, it is not free yes. But 15-20 usd per month is less then getting new gaming rig for 2-4k usd.
