When you preface your 'review' by calling out unsubstantiated 'fake gamers' and 'damned scum fanboys', then continue on a tirade about how you liberally apply the term 'fan boy'. Proceeding to diagnose random people with narcissism, etc, is pretty unhinged and mean spirited.
The moment you brought out the DEI boogieman, I shook my head.
Only thing I will say, positively, is that I appreciated the Digimon World 01 battle music at around 20 minutes in. Didn't see that coming. Oh, and you're not wrong about the technical issues.
But your usual 'map is boring', 'bosses too hard', and constant comparisons to Sekiro, etc, is all extremely reductive.
It's actually the other way around, ER is a normie game right now, it no longer is a niche game like Demon Souls was, so you guys wouldn't had Elden Ring if not for all the non fanatics that came to enjoy the series.
I don't think the series was super niche anyway, otherwise they would have kicked Miyasaki.
That's all sophistry. I changed my comment, because I didn't really agree with it either after posting it. Fromsoft has always had a cult following.
I played their old PS2 titles before they even became famous(at least in the west) and honestly to this day I wish they went back to keep doing Kings Field or another Eternal Ring.
They have always been masters of creating very STRONG atmospheres.
Digimon is one of my favorite franchises and one with very little bad games unlike pokemon they had always have very good soundtracks, I have I think 3 tracks of digimon in the video, one of DW1, one for DW2 and one for DW3.
Then again, the condition for Miyazaki being sacked makes no sense to me. Why would you kick someone simply because a series is niche? It's not like the guy was sitting alone in a basement and developed games all on his own for a bunch of years, there's an entire team involved.
Metal Wolf is another game series by FromSoft that I'd say is rather niche compared to souls and the people who worked at it probably still work at FromSoft.
Good taste. Though, my recent re-play of DW3 felt a bit soul destroying. I did not realise just how much of it is padded out by back tracking.
You cheated not the game but yourself.
Come back when you git gud.
I think I heard from a youtube video that the company took a gamble on him making Dark souls because they thought Demon Souls was weak or something like that.
I couldn't finish my last one either, my gf did and loved it but it was not the same for me as a kid, like you say the game is fully padded, constant random battles, constant backtracking, I just couldn't understand how I liked that as a kid, probably had nothing better to play, it's not bad but yeah it wastes your time HARD, the music though is excellent like always.
There a re tons of builds that can be called "cheap", in fact the game encourages you to use them, I'm not going to submit to the standard of irrational fanatics like you, so keep seething.
I think it falls into the whole imagination theatre thing. I was fresh off Digimon Adventure and Digimon Tamers. So a lot of it was just internalised digi-destined role-play, without realising how tedious the story loop is. I appreciated the card game a lot more as a child too.
