No. You will just become one of them.
Using hacks to fight hacks is like using gasoline to put out the fire.
Great...so we just get a worst connection for a bandaid
Hello, Everoth.
I am the idiot that in a benighted moment suggested to use exploits against afk farmers in your last thread.
I should not have done that.
There are other ways of dealing with people like afk farmers. This game offers a lot of ranged options that will help you in dealing with them. Canon of Haima, Rain of Arrows, Jar Cannon, the list is long. It's a battle of attrition, but in the end, you will win it with fair means.
And be assured, Timmy using his madness or insta death proc char while taking no damage against you will more than likely not be affected by the chainsaw. And if they are, they'll quickly resort to use actual cheats, to up the ante.
Which is exactly where Sc0rpiTr0n was going. Using exploits will eventually open a Pandora's box of cheats and hacks. There is no winning in this.
Again, I am sorry for having suggested it in the first place. Dealing with the kind of people you referred to sucks, but they can be taken care of even if it's incredibly difficult.
Environmental kills are a very good suggestion. Gravity has killed more players across this series than all bosses or enemies combined.
Don't be like them.
Hey Bob,
Thanks for the last help, afk farmers stopped being an issue when I got some of the advices from the group, apart from cheaters inside buildings, and other strange things, I managed to handle things out. But...cheaters have been the issue lately, mostly the reason I asked. If I cant use repulsion to push them off a cliff, I honestly cant thing of ways to deal with them. I am just afraid of them just bricking my game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my graphics card or worst. If beating them is not an option, then ♥♥♥♥ it. I either am prepared or it seems I will be playing alone without any summons or try to help others then.
It just honestly seems unfair, die or beat them without exploits or the cheater gets angry and cheats harder...ok. Wish I could block them or something like that goblin guy. Its just not fun loosing to a guy repeatedly exploding and flying over the screen. At that point, why would I play multiplayer when I am getting 1 out of 5 because the dlc just came out. I can try to beat them strait but I can only do that for so long until I said, " Honestly, I give up" and just basically uninstall.
Also, I absolutely see where you are coming from regarding cheaters. If it seems like someone is tanking your fp, try to force quit by making use of the ol' reliable alt+F4.
As a heads up in general:
Always create regulars back ups of your save file. To create a back up on windows, type %appdata into the search bar and hit enter, go to roaming and locate a directory called EldenRing. This is where your save files is stored. Copy it somewhere safe like your personal cloud or an external hard drive.
Should anyone progress your playthrough by force, try to force quit. Then, go into steam's settings and turn off steam cloud save feature. After that, copy your most recent save file back into the directory I described earlier. Turning off Steam's cloud save feature will prevent steam from overwriting your back up.
If you open steam's in-game overlay and clicking players, it will open a list containing the steam profile if players who connected to you during multiplayer, showing the most recent one at the top of it. If you can pinpoint the steam profile of the player who you suspect if cheating, go to their profile and block them. This should make them unable to connect to you during multiplayer ever again.
It's really just a soft means of dealing with cheaters, buts that's about all I know about.
And yes, it is absolutely not fun to lose against a guy who hovers above you while shooting lasers from his face, makes your screen explode with a billion particle effects, or outright tanks your fps to the point where your game just crashes. It absolutely sucks.
In my opinion, and while I'm aware that it's nowhere near as rampant as it was in older souls titles, we reached a point where something like Blue Acolytes for Ds2, or Blue Sentinels for Ds3 is necessary. Both are mods that prevent most cheats from being executed during multiplayer sessions.
edit:
This is a tool I use to see which steam profile connects to me during invasions/coop. It's safe to use while eac is active:
