Question to people who summon during boss battles
Do you genuinely believe you beat the game? If so, why?

I love getting summoned but I'd never summon myself. Funny how that goes.

I am not a summoner, but the reason summons exist is to increase accessibility to those who dont want to spend hours learning a bossfight. If there was no summons and no open world, then Elden Ring would not have gotten as big as it has and this game would be equivalent to that of Dark Souls 3 where the community is niche and God of War Ragnarok would have won GOTY and nobody wants that.

How are people so bad at the game they spend literal hours on boss fights? I'd just quit by then.

It's almost like different people engage with the game in different ways and find enjoyment in that.

Some people enjoy using builds that arent OP or enjoy not overleveling their scadutree blessing level and enjoy a challenge. If you prefer just beating the game DSP style, then that is you. But dont get the idea you are a good player.

Come on dude.....You just post the same type of thread, totally awesome threads dont get me wrong.....what about innovation and freshness?

Anyways i have to answer to your thread question, OP. You beat the game after beating the game, summons of players, NPCs or ashes have little to do with that.

Goodbye, OP and thanks for this wholesome thread. I encourage you to think about something new for the next one.....but thats just a suggestion my good man.

People that "beat the game" using arbitrary rules, do you realize that rolling credits on a single player game literally means nothing and is simply something to pass the time?

I personally feel that NPC summons and multiplayer summons are fair game. They balance the healthpools around it. Yes, it does make the game easier, but that's okay.

Ash summons on the other hand completely break the balance of the game. They have no downsides, just a little cost of FP or health. They can be unfairly tanky due to the way ash upgrades work. Since resistances are not scaled, they make status effects like bleed or frost even more broken.

to answer your original question, I feel absolutely no satisfaction fighing a boss with summons, whether npc, player, or ash. Something about splitting agro invalidates my playstyle. I prefer a 1v1 duel.

If I wanted to do a party vs the boss fight I would play a game thats more designed with that in mind, like Monster Hunter.
