How to dodge banished knights wind aura?
I dodge the halberd attack, I get hit by the wind, if I wait too long to dodge I get hit by the main attack. What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean Storm Assault, where the kinght jumps up and lands crashing down into you, halberd first? I'm not sure if you can dodge that one.

Attacks like that exist to teach you that some attacks are meant to be dodged backwards, and not into the enemy(which i assume is happening from what you posted).

What's giving me trouble is that stomp opening attack they do, do I need light encumberment to dodge that? I dodged backwards just now and I still got hit very late

If you mean the jump and slam, you roll towards and under him, so that you end up behind him when he lands.

If it's the stomp just roll backwards.

If you mean the one where he holds it up and start spinning you roll through the first halberd attack and sprint away.

If you're in a tight place you sorta try to roll the first, then try to roll the wind part and get hit somewhere in-between the second and third attack, at which point you should smack your lips, whisper "f*ck this game" and start R1 spamming while chugging flasks till the Banished Knight dies.

They have hyper armor during these attacks. You can't interrupt it, at least not easily.

Strike first, don't give them time, using weapon causing high stance damage
like greathammer, greatsword, curved greatsword or greataxe and stance break them.

If they start wind attack from distance roll behind them for backstab.

Ancient Death Rancor sorcery makes mockery of them even on NG+7.

Btw, is it possible to parry them?

Yes. I'm almost certain you can parry them even when they are performing some of their wind attacks.

Anything that holds a weapon shaped object can be parried.

...before some smartass replies with the one enemy holding a weapon that can't be parried, be aware that I will make a joke about girls parrying your advances and reposting you to the friend-zone.
