What's the deal with Miquella threads?
I'd like to know which specific rules people are breaking by discussing Miquella lore that it warrants immediate deleton and forum ban.

The first one was most likely due to explicit homophobia and transphobia in the OP. Deliberate hate speech is a no-no for any business that thinks all money spends equally.

The second probably died for violating the rule against open discussion of moderation enforcement actions.

Wouldn't put money on this one lasting all that long for the same reason.

It's mostly the special kind of user these threads attract, I believe. By that I don't mean everyone participating, but that guy.

there was none of that in the OP. that said, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the exact rationale behid the moderation action.

the OP asked if a character was a man or a woman, and if that character was gay. does this constitute excplicit and deliberate hate speech, homohobia, and transphobia?

I see… so we're being punished, but we're not allowed to know why.

let me get this straight: the threads were deleted because of the POTENTIAL discussions they could've provoked?

The "gay club" comment, in its context within that thread, cannot be construed as anything but negative.

Beyond that, I agree re: discussing moderation enforcement, but only up to a point. If it were a wide-open topic, you'd have folks who absolutely *earned* their bans creating endless threads about it.

On the other hand, the stonewalling doesn't help actions to be perceived as even-handed, so I get the concern.

At the end of the day, we all clicked "I Agree" on the ToS when we signed up for our accounts. This is a private platform. If the house rules become too onerous, we're always free to go elsewhere.

Not necessarily the potential discussion in and of itself, but because of the way some users tend to express themselves. If threads derail too far and/or turn into topics which are deemed too offensive, they can get nuked, and were in the past.

Those threads are just trolling & dramabait.

We all know what they are trying to do, No need to be obtuse about it.

Hmm i missed that thread.

I call it the Baldurs Gate 3 effect! Because we are talking about lore (or just bait) threads derailed by off-topic filth and buzzwords, trying to turn the Elden Ring boards into a new layer of hell because instead watching porn they have to bring their insecurities and sexual fantasies here......If you are not interested in the Elden Ring lore remember PEOPLE rule 34 exists! (outside the Steam forums......).

You are right about Raphael.....deleting my comment about him, please do the same with my quoted post. You can figure out that pretty early but yes.....Consider Neverwinter Nights, Shadows of the Underdark expansion another BG3 "prequel" (everything that happened there is canon just like in Baldurs Gate 1, 2 and Throne of Bhaal).

Discussing feet and armpits is normal:

But discussing lore isn't. Nothing weird about that.

Well, people respectfully discussed the Op's topic. By the Elden Ring forum standard of how threads usually turn out, this one is rather peaceful.
