Igon impossibly carries the Bayle fight
Without Igon, Bayle is such a dissapointing and boring fight. theres 4 dragons back to back before him and 3 other ghostflame dragons in the dlc and fighting Bayle is the exact same experience as fighting the other 7. Its pure dragon overload, just hit the flailing head over and over until posture break, so mindnumbingly bland. Igons VA is a treasure and is arguably justification enough for bothering with Bayle at all on casual playthroughs. Im so glad this glorified chicken carcass isnt a remembrance or Id give up on all remembrance challenge runs altogether.

"Midir but phase 2 contains Hollywood movie-tier explosions", pretty much.

As someone who killed all the From dragons i say Bayle is the best of the best, only thing he needed to be more epic is a cutscene.....

But thanks for sharing your opinion, OP. And remember de gustibus non est disputandum!1111!!
The dragon on meth , the thing has some serious hops and yeah without igon the fight is a pain especially the camera , i fight him unlocked

Im sure youre right, Midir and Kalameet are the extent of my knowledge on "good" From dragon fights. But I think the sheer amount of dragons alone in Elden Ring takes a considerable amount away from Bayles fight. from my experience, his situation of being in elden ring, a game saturated and bloated with dragons, is the exact opposite of what made Midir so special. If Bayle was the only dragon in the dlc I may have liked his fight a whole lot more, may have even been a boss that i liked as much as the others.

I thought Igon made the fight too easy...

I fought him quite a few times and had him down to a hit or two twice...only a matter of time..I came across a video of the dude and remembered I had that finger. Used it because I thought he was he was cool AF...but damn, I don't even think I used a flask when Bayle was destroying me before.

All said and done Igon was worth it solely because I think fighting Bayle with him is one of the most Iconic moments in gaming. Igon is simply an amazing character with a great voice actor. I just wish it didn't conflict with the try hard in me

Anyone else think the Bayle character model seems really cheap and low quality? Like he looks straight out of a B-movie. It reminds me of the "bounding demon" guys from Lost Izalith from Dark Souls 1.

Other than that, it's a pretty standard dragon boss. Sinh was much more cinematic and interesting. Bayle feels like a b-tier placidusax redux, there is nothing much interesting about him except maybe he moves a bit faster than you expect with a missing leg.

Bayle is absolutely nothing like the other dragon fights. but you're right that Igon makes it better… unless you're like me, and you died 50 times trying to keep him alive.

Agreed, Igon's VA goes so unbelievably hard, his pure ham is absolutely the highlight of that fight. I'd argue the only highlight, it's otherwise uninteresting.

I legit assumed he was immortal.

Comparing Bayle and stooping him down to the level of any of the other dragons in the game is probably the craziest thing I've read today... holy

He reminds me of a Balrog from LotR. Him using his exposed wing bone as a weapon is as metal as it gets. 9.5/10 visual design, though his completely red eyes look a bit comical and out of place imo.
