I block every player I lose against
I'm not even pretending anymore, I legit hate some of you people so much.

Edit: I'm done venting for now -- running on like 4 or less hours of sleep will do this to a man. fml.

It's funny how different people are.

The souls series actually helped me a lot with overcoming things in my professional life.

I think to myself when I'm having a rough week, or a bad interaction with a client "Damn it, you overcame Consort of Radahn after hours of attempts, you can get through this too"!

Might be silly, but when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Struggle is Manhood.
Sounds like a very toxic mindset. I'd be wary to hire a professional with this "i can wear down a videogame boss after hours, i can wear down any IRL people" mindset.

If you did own a business and based on what you said here, i'm not even sure you have much experience outside of hospitality and retail. You would WISH you had people like me. In fact, not just people, but clones.

People piss and moan all day everyday about IRL crap that is so trivial it's almost nauseating. However, these same people that complain non stop will commit countless hours to getting gud at any particular thing, in this case Elden Ring. Somehow they summon the force of will to overcome in a game, but not in real life. My correlation between gaming and real life was a attempt to show to the original poster that he can make good use of the time he is using gaming if he can internalize that force of will in any given daily activity. If you read through the discussion here the OP had indicated his life is already stressful enough and does not need the added stress of a difficult game.

Additionally I did not say "wear down" I said "Overcame". Overcoming something is not wearing down. I did not talk Radahn to death, or bore him to suicide. I stuck it out. Learned the patterns and overcame the obstacle.

Our words paint the world around us, Kala. They also reveal our own philosophy.

I love you. You were made for something amazing. You already have the gift, but sometimes it can be hard to open the box.

How tho? The Recently Played with thing on Steam used to do this hasn't worked in years at this point.
It does. just open the ingame overlay and click players. Or use this tool: https://github.com/tremwil/SteamP2PInfo/releases

I'll try the fix cuz the thing has been totally empty since around DS3's final patch for me. I just wanna be able to block the literal cheaters I get from time to time (the dudes that spam every effect in the game at the same time in the entire level).

It's more along the lines of "I could beat this super hard dlc boss" --> "I'll be able to somehow work with this client".

Come on, Kala, just read it again and you'll get the gist of it.

Like, VanDerSol even said it right here: Might be silly, but when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

And no, VanDerSol, this is what gitting gut in real life feels like, that's not stupid at all, but commendable.

Rock on. :praisesun:
Gamification of every IRL activity has gone too far.
If you have to think "i can beat this super difficult boss in hours, then i can find a way to work with this client" screams urgent mental care.

You can't apply videogame rules and expectations to IRL life, and vice-versa. This might lead to some serious harassment and even mobbing on the workplace
I sometimes do the side ring emote with a buddy at work as an inside joke.

Does that make me cringe, senpai?

tbh dark souls series actually helped me coping with stresses and depressive episodes. All these games teach you to never give up, keep going and trying all over again. If ER brings you more negative emotions than positive (I had the same with csgo), just drop it for several weeks and find yourself something chilly. No need to continue any activities that bring you harm in one or the other way :praisesun:
Oh god, another weirdo that went the "vIdEoGaMes HelPeD mE" blabber. A true stressed/depressed person would implode when playing highly stressful punishing games.

You call that person a weirdo because they reframed a situation that you are indeed identifying as stressful and made it be a tool to help with stress and mood management? That is actually what's weird.
Don't take this the wrong way but maybe you should take some time and go outside, clearly you aren't having fun and taking it out on others is the worse thing to do. You're pretty much just making people not want to help you with how hostile you're being and at this point the saying go touch grass is applying to you more and more.

whatever. it's a lost cause to reason with people that would sell their own mother just to have another edge in "mental gymnastic intergalactic championship".

You'd be very surprised to know a lot of IRL situations with people can be overcome just by talking/boring them out to the point they just accept whatever it's getting thrown at.

Indeed, the majority of soulsborne discussions are won by boring the interlocutor down into either leaving or dropping the argument.

yeah honestly, I do the same. when 90% of the playerbase on PC is alt/private accounts, I'm just gonna assume they're all using scripts or cheated save files :/

Don't participate in PvP if you can't handle the PP. It is weirdo behavior to block or hate someone just because they beat you in something you opted in to.
So now we are deluding ourselves into believing beating a game is instrumental to success irl 😆. You know what works even better? Less gaming and more focus on achievements, and not steam achievements if that’s where you’re going. Let’s get real, gaming is just a fun pastime.
