lvl 10
I guess 20 to 30. Godrick is probably around 35-45 btw. People rushing the game will probably beat them at a lower level though, but for the avarage player, I think these are the levels you find most beating them.

First run (PS5)?

20. I was still operating with a Souls mindset, and assumed I had to clear Margit to get to any of the rest of the game. That was my STR run.

Second run, I spent some time in the Weeping Peninsula and dorked around in the rest of Limgrave, came back and curb-stomped Margit at level 50.

...with a DEX build (Samurai starter for run 2).

on my first playthrough level 16 +2

since then i did beat margit on different levels including sl1 +0 weapon

For the average player which is not very skilled i would advice 30 +5 weapon or something

It really depends, my first playthrough was Wretch and I didn't level up past 1 until killing Godrick.

On subsequent playthroughs, it was probably in the area of 15-25.

I was level 17 when I first beat him

I'm so good I beat Margit in Dark Souls 3.

Margit demands experience. Skill. That's why you can either beat him the moment you see him, since he's really not that bad compared to what comes later, or you can go get some skill and experience fighting what's around the starter zones and other peninsula. By the time you do all that, you'll have collected a bunch of flask improvements, killed several bosses, practiced dodging minions that probably killed you numerous times, and have lots of new shiny talismans and levels and weapon upgrades to use. Which still doesn't make him easy but definitely easier. So if you're new to Souls and take the scenic route, it's not surprising to fight Margit by level 30+.

As I answered in your other thread, RL1 during Stormveil, however Margit is often considered a wall for the community. I'm not sure if you were here at release but Margit was notoriously a "gatekeeper". The player base that remains is more matured as well as online info probably so you don't see such comments as often but also a lot of people would rush to Margit at start before exploring and get smashed or fought Margit with too little HP before the community starting preaching the gospel of Vigor (similar to DS3). Others simply went off to explore after getting stopped at Margit and came back when they leveled, got the appropriate tools/tear, got gud.

I don't know what level most people finish the boss at, though, just the general level for Stormveil, itself.

If any of your friends need it here are some simple tips:

A neat trick is you can skip the ENTIRE first phase of the fight and start Margit off with 50% HP even at RL1 and it works mostly against Morgott as well even at RL1 (bit more effort though, but if you actually level should be super easy).

Take Margit/Morgott's shackle and when you get within reasonable range use it. Then go up to Margit/Morgott and do 3x charged attack (some weapons may require less, and obviously will not work with ultra light weapons like daggers). The 3rd charge attack should get off just as Margit/Morgott is getting up and will immediately poise break Margit/Morgott allowing a free critical.

You have two options here.

1. If pressed for stamina, as many may be for this, let stamina recover fully (or if you suck at timing it then like 70%) then use your critical attack before poise break ends.

2. If you have spare stamina or are a bit better at timing the moment the 3rd charged attack hits start spamming R1 (if done right it will not move into a critical but do normal melee chain, but if you do it wrong you can also just backup a bit and start the chain esp if you need some stamina first). Exhaust several hits and then move in (better time it right) to critical before the poise break ends. These extra hits may be massive overkill if you're leveling and upgrading weapon, though, possibly causing you to skip the second shackle effect entirely and jump to phase 2. Alternatively, you can just skip the extra hits and critical after recovering stamina and repeat the loop a second time timing shackle (can do it 2x in phase 1 only) to take effect as Margit/Morgott gets up and repeat the process. Should be in phase 2 at 50% (or less) HP at this point. Ta-da, skipped phase 1 entirely and Margit/Morgott did not even get to fight back yet.

Margit's second phase, if your struggling, can be baited by staying back. You can walk (not even run/dodge) to avoid daggers thrown and wait for Margit to jump and punish that. Also, during the phase shift when summoning hammer you can punish Margit for free and then he will jump and you can then punish a bit more just don't get greedy and get whacked. This is relevant mainly for those struggling with the multi-hit combos of Margit since that is what gatekeep many people early on, especially the spin Dancer similar type of attack.

First run? Level 40. Last time? Level 23. I go do castle Morne first. Then I beat Margit and run Stormveil.
