Bandit class with support spells and items
I am bored by the pure Quality build and abandoned at level 110. I never used spells or items and feel like missing the fun.

I am looking now into the bandit class with the idea to make him Arcane build but with access to support spells from both schools (but not pure offensive caster) and use of alchemy bombs and perfumery, to spice things up.

How will such a build end up ? Is it viable ? The complete opposite of pure melee build.

Alternatively I might consider a spellsword. Or maybe confessor ? But these 2 classes will miss on the support spells of the opposite school.

I'm completing a level 1 playthrough with a very similar build, and it is very viable if you like farming or have a mule who can trade you farmable mats. As for damage output, it's fantastic.
Well one thing I can share from exp is that the powder tricks, and spells are fairly lack luster. You'll get good damage out of the fire based ones with investment, prob in faith?
Poison will surprisingly bore you as a powder with its 'very limited range that every enemy walks out of.' <Long before it can take effect mind you.

Dragon breath is hella meta for rot because of this.
Bombs are kinda hard to farm, arrows are kinda annoying to farm.
-Ex entire play through rogue. Gathering gets not so fun, and tedious.

On the plus side:
Well when you find bomb shard zones to farm this gets easier.
When you find +poison this becomes more fun with arrow play.

It's not too bad in terms of farming materials, the reality is just doing it constantly or in huge excess all the time because they go really fast in pvp. Same with pve, and your play will consist of many pit stops for resupply as you go.

Does gives you a more natural gunslinger feel in Elden.

Yeah the farming requirements might get on my nerves later on. So this is why I would like to have plan B with access to support spells.

Wisely if you spare points in intel, and keep a tali on the side for buffing it you will open a 'great deal' of access to alt options.

For example like five points in intel, with the tali for +5 will allow most smaller intel based weapon play. There are similar results for your gear, and in the faith category all the game. Yeah you can open a lot of doors with default 15 intel or faith or both. Mind you in co-op, and pvp play that will require more like 10+ points in one of those for utility because only tali + carries into mp.

Not runes for example.

For endgame I imagine the build to look like

40 Vigor
20 Mind
15 Endurance
15 STR
25 Dex
20 Int
20 Faith
40 Arcane

Edit: Uh that's too much levels. Something has to give up

Yeah pretty much, and right there is where you will learn what I did. That there is no such thing as hybrid prior to level 165+. What you will get from that build is lack luster damage on all fronts. Too spread out. It's only my opinion, but with arc you need dex or str unless purely going to scale all your weapons for arc.

<<When I explored this build again I dropped ten of that arc, and a huge dex factor, and prioritized as needed. That may not end up being the same for you or your comfort of play, but 100% you will prob not see great damage from that build ever. Fully relying on proc from arc could work at 40 with weapons like swords.

Just an example of when I stopped at 150:
45 VIG
15 m
40 end
10-15 str
50+dex
10intel
10faith
20-30 arcane

So you can see with this I gave up utility options, because I felt they were lack luster. Initially I wanted to try that final fantasy jester style with powders, but the lack of damage vs time made me withdraw from testing it much. Str, or Dex both allowed quick kills with consistency.

No PVP considerations. That's what larval tears are for. This is just PVE
Since this hybrid build is indeed too spread out, that is way above Lvl150. So I can go lower on the stats but rely heavily on stat increasing medallions, situational

Yeah dependent on your level certain things will be a non-factor. Hope it goes well, because tricks build could be viable at lower levels.

Something has to give up. I think now Arcane. I don't think I will gain much from it.
I will figure it out step by step and start slow on arcane first.
Sometimes being weak is not that bad. At the end of the game even my ex-Quality felt weak
Kinda doing it already actually.
Cracked pot items for elemental damages on vulnerable targets, I slew many sheep herds in the Weeping Peninsula for (Fletched) Bone Arrows, with plenty of Poison and Fire bone arrows. Kukri can be farmed from the Vulgar Militia near Farum Greatbridge while getting decent runes, there's a merchant near castle morne ramparts that sells Kukri and those things are useful as heck.

You need at least 10 faith just to use a finger seal, but I have the Two Fingers talisman on for now, its fairly early game, and that raises me from 8 (default) to 13 faith, which allows some utility spells: Catch Flame and Flame Sling clears Stonediggers and bombs the stormhawks in Stormveil. Cure Poison for a handful of dungeons its useful in, or when I'm farming poisonbloom near Sellen.
You also have Beast incantations, which are also low investment but surprisingly useful even if its not a Str/Faith build: Beastial Vitality is an excellent heal over time for PvE stuff, Beastial Constitution can cure Bleed/Frost but I prefer boluses for that, Beastial Sling is useful.
The Fortification incantations to increase Magic resist for Raya Lucaria, Flame/Lightning resist too. Flame, Cleanse Me heals Rot. Poison Mist is ehh but its also in the bracket of 12 faith or less.

Low faith is for utility, not damage, but its got a surprising amount of use for pretty low investment. Kukri and cracked pots are fun, but take some farming. The Shortbow you start with has Barrage to spam status with. I actually quite liked Bandit after playing a tanky Str/Faith.
Yeah I will actually not try to confine myself within meta 150. The hell with that. I will go as much as I want. The endgame anyways makes a clown 🤡 out of any build with brutal damage. So why confine myself.

What I've most recently been playing to great effect is a hyper-lightweight Arcane build. Occult Raptor Talons for melee, Dancer Charm, little to no armour and Seal of Dragon Communion. With this, physical incantations (Stone of Gurranq being the standout as well as Rot Breath obviously) get massively boosted so you end up with effectively a pure caster who just so happens to also be savagely effective up close.

My one regret is not realising how good Crucible Horns would have been for my run until pretty late, because with this build that thing bullies the Omens under Leyndell with some ease.
Both faith and INT were alot of fun this game. Way more flashy then previous souls games.

I started with arc and Faith then put some points into INT late game.

Why not just respec your first character?
Too late to respec. Roleplaying reasons. Is still okay character I might finish with him too. But for the time being I need a new class from the start.
