heavy weapons and although they're supposedly weak to status effects. Bleed can work well on them.
Blasphemous blade does an ok job too

Get a weapon that deals strike damage, try to get in as much jump attacks or charged heavy attacks as possible. It's a gank boss, so getting something (spirit ashes) or someone (sunbro) to distract them from attacking you both at once helps.

Shard Spiral sorcery.
Blunt weapons like hammers and flails.

Ranged Ashes of War are useful: Vacuum Slice, Storm Blade or Beast's Roar.
Gargoyles are immune to status effects.

I meant that in my original but tbh the wiki is a bit b*llocks. you can apply status effects on them no bother.
