Elden ring and being a first time souls player
As the title suggests I broke my proverbial cherry on this game. Absolutely love it, so far put in over 160 hours into it. I am now lvl 181 and have 12 blessing levels and working on more for my poor summons who is at 7 lol. but he'll get there. Either way, This game puts a new meaning to obtuse and non-descript in its non-linear/linear progression of the story and where you should go, not at all hand holing you and allow you to discover things on your own with a wee bit subtle direction on where to go (Grace sites).

either way I understand the frustration, the DLC is pretty hard if you don't have enough levels or blessings, (messemer the impaler is handing my butt to me lol I can barely get him to less than 20% health curently because he is constantly on my ass like a fly on poop but I will get him so i went exploring other areas for now upgrading my blessings for both the summons and myself ) making things much more difficult for you than it needs to be, but don't cut your arm off to spite your hand. I think at this point the nerfs on the blessing requirements are where they need to be and we shouldn't complain anymore else we ruin the core gameplay from what it originally gave us. Sense of accompliment through sheer determination, learning of the movement phases of the bosses, the "tells" from the boss and knowing what spells to do, and how and when to use them. I for one love this DLC, but it isn't without it's faults. Such as graphical artifacting (noticed flickering and black portions on the map, but very rare) and the typical long standing stuttering issues. But the game is expansive, beautiful and engrossing journey through a detailed, troubled world the player travels through to finish what he/she set out to do through the storyline.

I changed up my talisman groupings, my spell uses, and how many +10 summons I can bring on depending on the type of boss. So far I am fully engrossed in this game. I will get bloodborne for PC if they ever do it lol. but I am tempted to get it on my PS4 pro ( thoiugh i don't think it will run on the PS5). either way.

Journey on Tarnished, your goal and mission is clear. Catch up to miquella and vanquish him and reign supreme.

Glad you’re enjoying the game. If you ever decide to go back and play the old souls, I think you’ll be in for a good time as well. :mhwhappy:

yeah I picked a glass cannon, (did the entire core game with no buffs lol) but I adjusted a bit now, and went out and picked up my faith for more buffs along with my dmg boost/negation improvements, along with death spells which packs a whallop on most enemies. then I have my night comet for efficient FP cost/heavy dmg ratio, along with my gravity spells on my Lusat Full gear, + Lusat staff +10, and my Dark Moon Greatsword +10 with a good Ash of war attached that amps the dmg it outputs to mobs and bosses when I can get close or stagger them. Absolutely having a blast.

yea the thing about good spells you can only gain it if you skip some area so mage are limited by progression unlike other that use weapon main that can just upgrade stuff and ready to go, at start pure wizard isn't very good, unless you really know what to do. the more you know the more easy if you want start over and create new build/character.
