Did you pick up the items there and read the descriptions?

Lorewise, that was Marika's home, and... the backstory is far from pretty, her people were essentially tortured and forcefully turned into the Jar monsters we see in the DLC, yeah those malformed flesh monsters are what remains of her people.

The Minor Erdtree spell reveals Marika returned here at one point to leave a Minor Erdtree to bathe the village in gold, despite everyone being long gone.

And just when I thought that Golden Order fanatics were bad, the hornsent show up.

What was their deal anyway? Especially how they treated everyone who didn't align with their own goals/religion and the means they used to enforce their believes. The hornsent are just straight up cruel.
I personally got Majula flashbacks when I was there.

Messmer did nothing wrong tbh.

From needs to learn how to model a proper village. Shaman village has like 3 houses in it, that's it. As if it had population of 5 people.

They probably wouldn't have many houses if the population keeps getting put into jars at an alarming rate. It'd be funny if you open up a house and there's actually a giant underground village.
It doesn't make sense. It should have a lot of houses, if it's used to create jar saints, since lots of houses = lots of people that reproduce. If this village will have a population of 5 people, how many will be taken by hornsent?
Right now it looks as if hornsent took 5 people from the village and Marika decided to just kill everyone because of that.
Now that I think about it, she's hilariously evil.

Nothing makes sense in Elden Ring. That's the joke.
Well, maybe. I still have no idea about the timeline of events, it's all over the place. Or maybe people in the Lands Between can live for 200-300 years.

If you reduce a population over time, there are fewer houses left, as noone lives inside of them any longer. Meaning the buildings just deteriorate until nothing is left of them over time.

Given how the Great Potentates in Bonny VIllage look like, they likely didn't take everyone at once, but raided the Shaman Village multiple times, until eventually only a few souls living in the village were left, which also explains the state the village is in when the player reaches it.

Yes, because houses just vanish from existence if not used. Now I understand.

As for the timeline - the problem isn't just with him. His whole company is still there, with him, somehow. Unless they reproduce in the shadow keep, I have no idea why exactly they are still alive. And it's not just the DLC, everything is screwed up. It feels as if things happened in the timespan of 10 and 300 years at the same time.

Its a gameplay consensus , the same reason why the entire lands between has one farm to feed the whole country. It conveys what it needs to without making unnecessary work for the devs. Or why Lyendell wells for drinking connect to the sewers , or why there bosses in rooms they obviously couldn't get out of and etc. Don't overthink it,there are 0 reasons to waste dev time to make it 'believable' when its made to convey a point and focus on gameplay / traversal.

Well, as I said, given enough time buildings will eventually deteriorate to the point where there is nothing left of them. It's implied that some events in Elden Ring took place several dozens or hundreds, if not thousands of years ago. Given that the Shaman Village is Marika's place of birth, it can very well be assumed what I said earlier is how it happened.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say by "his whole company".

Miyazaki wanted to capture the fan's feelings toward Bloodborne as a PS exclusive. He succeeded perfectly in that endeavor

Yes and i actually like it. Everything started there for Marika a little village with bucolic vibes, before the Elden Ring, demigods and war just simpler times.

In a lot of cases people visited the village after killing her so here is that!

No, they won't. If buildings are made out of stone, they will endure, the same way how remaining ones endured. Unless hornsent have been milking the village thousands of years ago, which is retarded. Also doesn't explain why exactly building are still there at all.

As for the "his whole company" - I meant his company of knights, men at arms, soldiers. He's a demigod, he can probably live long. But his men can't.
