Messmer's Flame

Spoilers incoming for those who haven't gotten through most of the DLC.



So, you use Messmer's flame to burn the Scadutree similarly to how the Erdtree needs to be burned. But, is there any reason we cannot use Messmer's flame to burn the Erdtree itself, beyond story reasons? My game was already at the endgame when I did the DLC, so unsure if it could be used outside of the DLC, but it would be an interesting 3rd choice that we didn't have before. and I would wonder how that would affect the DLC as well.

You do not burn the scadutree. Only that small sealing tree at church of the bud. Maybe Messmer's Flame is not strong enough for burning the Erdtree?

Also read the description of Messmer's Flame. You know who his sister is. There's only one possible candidate. They're created to do the same thing at different places.

You don't burn the Scadutree, though. You burn the sealing tree, which is an entirely different thing with its sole purpose of blocking entrance to Enir-Ilim.
